Internationally recognised Karate teacher, 8th Dan Master Fred Vella has trained more than 40000 students in Australia, USA, Asia, Europe in the forty years professional involvement with Karate. For most of his life he has literally lived and breathed Karate.

As a result Fred Vella is now much travelled and has lectured overseas on many occasions while being kept in high esteem in martial arts circles everywhere. In this field he was also the publisher of the Australian Karate Journal and the Australian Martial Arts Magazine, which were distributed through out Australia and to more than twenty other countries.

Mr. Vella gained worldwide fame in 1972 when he took just 17 hours 10 minutes to demolish a 20,000 brick house with his bare hands in a fund raising feat for charity. This earned him a world record.

As well as establishing a successful career he has constantly given his time and resources for the benefit of others and stresses the character building and disciplinary qualities of martial arts training in our sometimes troubled society and helps people to realise their personal resources.

He has been nominated for the Gold Coast citizen of the year award as well as for the BHP Pursuit of Excellence Award, he has won the Australia Day Achievement, Ambassador to Paradise Award for service to the Gold Coast community and twice won the Australia Foundation Award , 1999 Karate hall of fame and nominated Community Citizen of the Century 

It is not surprising therefore that the high profile personality created quite an impact and the press , radio and TV media extended a lot of coverage to this prominent ambassador who was the continents first full time Karate professional for over TEN years.
