MAN ON A MISSION
As you probably already know, Bono is
a man of deep convictions for all things humanitarian and just in
this world. This gallery documents his travels to Africa in May
2002 with US Treasury Secretary Paul O'Neill as he lobbies for
AIDS funding and free trade for Africa. For more information

In
the last ten days
while we've been on
this trip, in Sub Saharan Africa:
55,000 people have died from AIDS
$400 million have been spent by Africans on debt payments - much of this to the IMF and WB.
14,000 mothers have given HIV to their children, in childbirth.
Can you believe
that? I can't believe that.
It's insanity.

Development Bank meetings May 29th 2002
