UK Pop Superstars Blue team up with Elton John for brand new collaboration
Now comes news hot off the press that international superstar Elton John has teamed up with the guys to record a new version of Elton’s 1976 hit “Sorry Seems To Be The Hardest Word”.
The track will be included on Blue’s highly anticipated second album “One Love”, released on November 11th, and is a dead cert for yet another UK #1 single for the boys from Blue when it is released for Christmas.
Coincidentally the track was originally included on Elton’s album ‘Blue Moves’ and the collaboration came about when Lee Ryan from the band had the idea for Blue to cover the track, as it is one of his all time favourite songs.
Approaches were made to Elton to ascertain his interest in recording the song and Blue were delighted when Elton agreed to the idea. The track was recorded at the weekend and the video will be shot in early November featuring both Blue and Elton.
Earlier in the year, Elton hailed their “All Rise” album “as the best pop album of the year” and is said to be delighted that this collaboration has come together.
Lee Ryan from Blue says, “We are all massive Elton fans, personally he has always been one of my musical heroes. It’s an honour to have had the chance to record with him. I have always loved the song, it’s classic Elton”.
Blue have quickly become of the most successful UK pop exports of recent years. Their debut album has sold over 2 million units Internationally (including over 50,000 units here in Oz). Their first 4 single releases (“All Rise”, “Too Close”, “If You Come Back” & “Fly By II”) were all monster hits both here and in Europe. Their Australian single sales total over 300,000 units.
The brand new single from Blue titled “One Love” is released in Australia on Monday October 28, just as news of another UK #1 debut is expected to be announced from across the world.
