BAD BREEDERS AND SCAMMERS!
Hi! My name is Bobbi,I bought Nova from Michele Hetrick.I certainly agree Nova did look ruff,I took a chance thinking she would at least make a good watchdog,after buying her I took her to my vet,he did a skin scrap and said she would be fine to breed,although he said she must of had fleas bad before I used the Frontline and she had a terrible flea allergy and I would have to keep Frontline on her to keep fleas off her,and she had to be on antibiotics because she had a bad skin infection from digging at the fleas with her dirty claws and was not treated with the proper treatment by the person I got her from.
After I took her to the vet ,the only time I had any problem with Nova's hair was once when Frontline was not used,so I put Frontline on her and she was fine,then I did breed her once a few months ago
.Even after she was bred I did not have any problems with her loosing hair,which I have been told most dogs if they have demadeptic mange loose hair during pregnancy or after having pups,and my Nova stayed beautiful!
So far so good!Well,then comes the bad news! I recently was notified that two of her babies have been tested positive for Demadeptic mange!
At this point I'm blowen away! There's never been any skin problems out of the stud I bred her with and never have I had any complaints on his offspring having skin problems of any sort.I contacted the vet he said that females generally are the carriers of this mange, and suggested Nova be spayed because when a female is a carrier half of any pups she has could have this mange yet some could be just fine!
I still don't understand why the skin test did not test positive!
Anyway,Nova only had 3 living pups,the two that tested positive are suppose to be put to sleep or spayed or neutered,and I have had replace them,the other is a male and I will be contacting the owner to have him have his pup throughly checked out then see what he wants to do from there, I plan to do some research ,and learn more about this.
I certainly learned my lesson and will never breed a dog thats lost her hair,NO MATTER WHY THEY LOST IT !! Now I will be looking for someone interested in spaying Nova and giving her a good home, she is a great natured dog,and needs someone to love her strickly as a PET,she also does good inside.
She is not a good watchdog(shes too sweet) and she can not be bred therfore I can't afford to keep her no longer .

She said ....or any negative attitude for that matter, I only want to let people know that if they have Novas offspring from before, when Michele bred her,be sure to take your dog to the vet and have the dog throughly tested or if there are any skin problems at all, my suggestion is DON'T BREED,have the dog spade or neutered or you may end up replacing puppies!
Nova is out of a Choas' Blue Kate and Swinson's Blue Sir Kane. She was born June 3,2003.
