History
The people of the planet Kitwarren had long been famed for their knowledge and wisdom, so much so thyat they were in constant demand as scientists on a number of worlds. They were especially fond of their semi-nomadic existence, so they often served as members of interstellar exploration.
Pastine was one of these. She became scientific advisor on a research voyage that was first to reach Earth. Choosing to remain after the voyage continued on its way, she has since studied to understand the people and their various cultures. She has some form of subconscious 'sense' that enables her to tell just how accurate any information is that she has been told: obviously this sense is getting considerable use here on Earth.

Note: Above all, the people of Kitwarren value knowledge above all else, much as we value riches. The more learned one of them is, the more respected he/she is.
