Salamanders: Chaplain Grabthar's Purifiers
Genesis of an Army

Introducing Chaplain Tyrus

After having looked at my army lists again, I've come to realise that the Klingon-inspired names for my characters sucked. So I've taken the easy option and gone for GW Latin-style names. This means that Chaplain Grabthar no longer features in the army, but he's not forgotten as the URL to this site, and the back story of Chaplain Tyrus proves.

The Force Grows

In the down-time since my last updates, I've had the chance to purchase a few more models and can now field a 1,500 point army without proxying, so I've put the list in the army lists section of the website.

While I was in a list making mood, I worked out which units I could drop to make a valid 500 point force and the results can be found here.

We're NOT Dead Yet!

Although it has been an awful long time since the site has seen any updates, it's not off-line. I'm afraid an unfortunate case of Real Life intervened.

Fortunately I'm back in the position of being able to maintain the site (keep a look out over the next few weeks), and what with the recently re-released Index Astartes entry for the Salamanders being available, I had the perfect excuse to re-start.

The Magnificent Seven (+1)

The might of Chaplain Grabthar's Purifiers finally gets to test it's mettle in combat as our gaming group mobilises it's 2002 Warhammer 40,000 League. See the battle reports section to find out how the doughty Salamanders did, or read the background story here.

First Army List

I've worked out a 1,000pt army list to buy and use for Chaplain Grabthar's initial force, dubbed the 'Purifiers.' According to the 'cheese' measuring system developed by John Hwang on the rec.games.miniatures.warhammer newsgroup, it's not cheesy merely 'very strong.'
