Once upon a time on a red island faraway
A girl was born one warm December day
She led a life so simple yet happy
Until her family moved ere she turned three
To start a new life by the Mediterranean sea
Hardships and toils her family faced
A bitter life they had to taste
But through it all the little girl grew
She read, dreamed, danced, and drew
And did most things little girls usually do
When it was time to move once more
As she had done eleven years before
She did not shed a single tear
The land of hope was now so near
And nothing behind to her was dear
