Faeries and Nature Spirits

The Fay folk are a large part of my beliefs and I like to call to them for help in rituals. There are many different ways to attract faeries into your home; hanging tiny bells by windows (or on the Yule tree if it is that time of year), using rose oil/incense, cleansing yourself in rose water before a spell. But remember, that you must protect yourself from trickster faeries.
Smelling lavender when there is none around is a sign that there are angels around.
Cats can help a great deal when calling for the fay folk. Coax her (or him) onto your lap (the cat needs to choose to help) in the garden and stroke her until she develops a strong sheen in her fur. Annoint the pentacle onto her head form a chalice of wine and the same to yourself. Stroke the end of her tail over your left eye three times, then the same your right whilst saying:
"Elves of the night, enchant my sight,
Your forms for to see in moon or sunlight;
With this spell and with this sign
I pri'thee, forward my design"
Let your cat return to a comfy spot to rest, whilst you sit meditating and watching fay folk; faint to begin with (coloured lights) until they have blessed your sight.
I spend lots of time buying books of faeries and Faery Wicca, but the most valuable information I have ever heard was from a friend working in a local Magic store. She told me the best way to see into Faeryland is to take a shiny spoon and dig a small hole in the ground between the roots of a large tree (oak preferably), just before it rains - (you can usually tell, as the air smells different about 2 minutes before). Go inside and wait until the rain stops. Check the hole when it has filled with the rain water, use this as a scying tool to look into Faeryland. As with other methods of scrying do not concentrate too hard - relax the mind (meditate first).
