GET INVOLVED
There is always plenty to do within the club, and the club relies on
help from many parents, both seasoned and novice members of the
club. A variety of skills are needed for the club to run smoothly
- qualified officials such as timekeepers and judges, announcers,
organisers, team managers, raffle organisers, fund raisers, social
organisers, and particularly computer skills to help operate the
automatic timing system at home galas.
If you want to help in any way or if you feel you have skills
or facilities the club can use, please contact
us.
Apart from the obvious swimming related skills,
we may need other less obvious skills, such as advice on insurance
or sponsorship, or facilities like photocopying. The more who become
involved and the more who share the workload, the smoother the
club runs – which
benefits all the children. Every year the Club loses its older
swimmers and naturally the most experienced parents, so parents
of younger members must come forward and become involved in the
running of the Club to ensure experience is passed on.

IN THE MORE YOU GET OUT!
We hope your children enjoy their time with the Club. Some of them may be
with us for the next 8 to 12 years. It may seem hard work at times, and repetitive,
but progress depends to a large extent on the encouragement the children receive
from their parents/guardians. Remember also that not all swimmers will be champions.
The most important aspect is taking part, and whatever their standard, all
children are capable of becoming better swimmers. In this way, we hope that
all swimmers will benefit from their membership.
