what is hair 4 lymphoma?
Hair 4 Lymphoma is the brainchild of Eliane Amyot, a 22 year old woman from Navan, Ontario, Canada. In November 2001, when her very good friend, Karine Chartrand, was diagnosed with Large B Cell Lymphoma, Eliane was devastated, as were Karine's family and friends.
Since October, Karine had to overcome many obstacles. In spite of this difficult period, this beautiful 21 year old woman is very courageous and optimistic. Karine is currently receiving chemotherapy and, consequently, she is losing her hair. In order to help Karine cope through this very difficult time, Eliane, a student at the University of Ottawa, has founded Hair 4 Lymphoma, a fundraising initiative. To raise money, Eliane will have her hair shaved by Karine, a student at la Cité collégial. The event will take place at 2:00 PM on January 26, 2002, on the first level of the St-Laurent Shopping Centre, near the food court.
Eliane's hair, mid-back length, will be donated to have a wig made out of it. Hair 4 Lymphoma is seeking your donations. All the money raised will be donated to the Ottawa Regional Cancer Centre (ORCC) Foundation.
