Oasis '02 - Waited about 3 hours for the boys after the concert at The Chicago Theater on August 20th, 2002 for this one gem of an autograph. All the guys came out separately, Andy first, then Gem, Noel, Liam and Alan last. They all signed autographs except for Liam who just stared at the ground and was pulled directly into the tour bus by a security guard. The "sexy bastard" (as one girl called him) eluded me once again! Because there were so many fans waiting (and pushing and shoving), the only autograph I got was Noel's, which ain't half bad. When he first came out, he turned to each group of waiting fans and did a triumphant, arms in the air, peace sign "I am not a crook" gesture. The fans loved it of course, and we all cheered.  Now either Noel is getting sloppy in his old age, or he was trying to save time, but his autograph was a big scribble. Nothing like it was back in '96 when I first got it. Oh well, it's not the piece of paper that matters, it's the experience! The only thing I could think of to say at the time was to ask Noel if he was feeling better. I was referring to the car accident he was in 2 weeks before. He looked at me, furrowed his brow, smiled, and gave me a nod. I took it as "Yes I am, and thanks for asking". Before I die, I AM going to have a complete conversation with that man. But for now, so goes my second touch with greatness: Noel Gallagher, the man, the myth, the legend.

Oasis '96 - Waited 3 hours after the infamous non-Liam August 27th, 1996 show at The Allstate Arena in Chicago for the boys to come out. When they finally did, they were all red-eyed, but still nice, and signed autographs and posed for photos. I'm dumb so I didn't bring my camera. Liam was a no-show for the concert, so obviously I don't have his autograph. I asked Noel 2 questions, both of which were about Liam, because I was a big Liam freak back then. I asked him if Liam was really sick, to which he replied "That's what he says." Nice deflection with a vague answer. Then I asked Noel if Liam would be singing at the MTV Video Awards, which were coming up. Noel said "I don't think he'd miss a chance to be on TV." Then he smiled and laughed at his own joke. I of course, did the same.

Stereophonics - I got these after their January 29th 2002 show at The Metro in Chicago. They went to have a few drinks at The Smart Bar next door, and that's when I got them. Very nice guys, Stuart thanked me for coming out to the show. I told Kelly there were some under 21 people waiting outside for them, and Kelly said something, but I couldn't understand him! All I heard was the word "drink". I think he said something along the lines that they would be coming out after they had a few more drinks. I just smiled at him and thought to myself how small he is in person. Then I went back outside and the people still waiting there gave me their things they wanted signed, and I went back in and got everything signed for them. Because I'm such a nice person. Plus it gave me an excuse to see the band up close again.

Travis - Got these after the September 19th 2000 show at The Riviera in Chicago. It started to drizzle while we waited outside. I blamed the Travis t-shirt I had just bought that said "Why does it always rain on me?". By the time the guys came out, the rain had stopped. They couldn't have been more sweet and down to earth, especially Fran. All the girls were asking for hugs, but I passed. Because like I said, I'm not a groupie. I also remember while sitting on the sidewalk waiting for Travis, I accidentally tripped the lead singer of Powderfinger. He apologized for tripping on me.

Coldplay - Waited in the cold for Coldplay after the February 19th 2001 show at The Riviera in Chicago. Chris Martin had a cold, so he wasn't in the best mood, but he still signed autographs for everyone.

The Charlatans UK - Just happened to be at the right place at the right time and was invited to an after show party at The Smart Bar after the January 22nd 2002 show at The Vic. I only got Tim Burgess' autograph. He was very gracious, thanking us for coming to the show, and saying he was honored. I was speechless and didn't know how to respond, so I just smiled. I had my picture taken with him, but because I forgot to put film in my camera, the photo didn't turn out. Normally I'm a bit brighter than that. Really.

Starsailor - Got these at the Smart Bar after show party along with The Charlatans. James Walsh, the lead singer wasn't there. He was "taking an early night" as I was told by the keyboardist. The other band members were really cool though, shaking our hands and saying they were glad to meet us.

Blur - Got these after the June 24th 1997 show at The Rave in Milwaukee. James left early in a taxi, so I didn't get his.

Cast - Got these at an official signing after they played Summerfest in 1996. All really nice guys. I also got my Cast T-shirt signed, and I had Keith the drummer sign his drumstick that I snagged. Notice how Liam wrote "Best fishes". He was quite amused with himself.

Kula Shaker - coming soon
