FULL MOON HOTEL LUNCH:
Twenty-eight members and guests enjoyed a nice lunch overlooking Bramble Bay.  The food was delicious, even though some people at the middle table were a long time in getting their meals.   A meat raffle, run by a local football club, was won by Col & Jenny.   It was a most enjoyable way to while away the time for a Saturday lunch.

HERITAGE CENTRE @ SCOUT HEADQUARTERS:
The next day that we can volunteer our time for this is 9.30 am on Thursday 24th September.  It is only for the morning (which includes morning tea), and it is an interesting way to help preserve the Scouting heritage.

BRIBIE ISLAND GUIDE HUT:

BOTTOM PAGE BITS:

Margaret Wood has not been well for a few weeks now, with a bout of Whooping Cough, amongst other things.   (A timely reminder to go get a booster shot of your childhood injections, as most people would no longer be immune to these diseases.)
Noel & Margaret Wood have moved out of their Landor Street, Wellers Hill home of over forty years, and are moving in with their son Brian and his wife and boys until their Unit at Yeronga Retirement Village is finished.   You can still send correspondence to their former address, as it is being forwarded on to them for a while until they move to their Unit.

Both Gordon Shaw and Colin Nelson have had operations and are now very much on the mend.

Graeme Chesterman is enjoying a holiday overseas in Canada.

Bob Cooper and Gay Fletcher visited the Australian Mint in Canberra, and brought back a board of one dollar coins commemorating the Centenary of Scouting, and are donating it to the Scout Museum after Karawa Guild gets it framed.

The Lavertys had a little trip to Melbourne to see Alan in a play down there.   They said it was excellent.

The Collingwoods, C & L and J & J Pascoe have returned from a great Camping Safari Bus trip from Cairns to the tip of Cape York.   All had a fantastic time, but didn’t see any crocodiles close up.
Gwenda filled up the back seat of J & J’s Pajero from Cairns to Atherton, Undara, Charters Towers, and other eating spots until we dropped her off at Maryborough.

THANK-YOU: Elaine & Alan wish to thank Karawa Guild for their generous gift of money following the loss of their home at The Gap.
At the time of writing, the roof is now on, the broken windows replaced, the house has been rewired, the plumbing has gone as far as it can until the plasterers have finished, and they have ceilings with just the walls to come.   The painters have started on the outside of the house, so Elaine and Alan are pleased to report that it is all coming together nicely.   The builder hopes to have them back in the house sometime in March, so they cant wait to get their belongings unpacked and be in their own home again.
