Another giant creature feature! What else is new and after such great horror classics as BOA, SPIDERS, and ARACHNID, Blockbuster has sent me, Beneath Loch Ness. And this film was somewhat likeable despite the fact the monster looked like a bad Playstation FMV. But this film was actually likeable in the fact that something ACTUALLY HAPPENS with these creatures.
Ok, When a man dies on a deep sea dive expedition in ol' Loch Ness, it brings up alot of questions. And also brings up the idea for a cool tv show exploiting the man's death. So when his best friend comes in and takes over, they find out that there is more at the bottom of Loch Ness then just a popped balloon and a bunch of tourist traps. I mean, this sucker was huge!!!!!!! To bad they had no money whatsoever to back this film up, I mean, it would have been cool to see something more then a poorly animated CGI monster that was more fake and blocky then the original Tomb Raider. The acting is sub par except for one character who did a pretty decent job. I would have liked to see more of the creature and maybe some actual BLOOD and GORE but hey, it sure as hell beats SPIDERS. Funny though, a film like this has no companies backing it, but a film like Arachnid has 32 companies backing the crappy film and can't even show a little t&a!!! This film at least had somewhat intersting scenes, and if they had some money, they could have been so much more.
I say, if you are hankering for a new sea creature film, and are still recovering from Shark Attack 2, then hop Beneath Loch Ness. Or you could do what I did, wait for American Psycho 2 to come back in and wish you could hang yourself while watching it. Your choice....

"In this day and age, you would think, after Dimensions Films put out such films as From Dusk till dawn, and Mimic, they could afford to have a computer animator who isn't just getting out of grade school. I mean come on, Barney the gay dinosaur looked more realistic."
