THe highly anticipated sequel that was deemed to contain more sex, gore and mayhem then the first had, turns out to be nothing more then that. What I mean is...its the same fucking film! I mean, from the deaths to the twists to the order of people dying. Its all the same folks...I honestly can't believe how they can consider this an actual sequel. Yes it does have it's fair share of gore, but nothing like what was proclaimed. There is really only ONE scene where it's extremely gory and its so fucking fake that its pathetic. I never knew people didn't scream or react to the pain of having there legs chopped off by a machette. Yeah....must feel like mosquito bite I guess....Well here is the story...for those of you who haven't seen the first...
Its been 5 years since the first incident at camp placid pines, and now it's closing time. Final 3 days and its time for packing...but all is not going according to plan when, one night, after playing a game of BLOODY MURDER, people start disappearing. If you all remember the character named JASON who died in the previous installment during the bloody murder game. Well, seems they couldn't leave that joke alone so they added to it. Yes, the main character in this is his sister (Why she went BACK to the camp where her brother was killed but was never found is beyond me)
So now we have her bitching about Trevor, people dying pretty much in predictable ways...a couple of twists that we all see coming a mile away....basically...if you have seen the first...there isn't much to see here folks. Its just the same thing as the first only...this time, they put in what people bitched about with the first...
Thing is, the first was a HUGE rip-off of Friday the 13th and thats what made it so funny. But in this one, they changed his mask to look like the actors guild masks. No Jason mask, and now he is wearing overalls rather then a "CLEAN" jumpsuit. I would have liked them to have played more on the Trevor Moorhouse legend rather then reciting the SAME crap we already knew from the previous outing.
As for the gore, all your favorite deaths that were lame in the first are in this one, the arrow through the throat, the throat slitting, the stabbings....they are all back only this time they just added more blood. And they added some nudity along with a kind of lame sex scene that was almost directly out of Howling IV. (*the bitch even looks the same)
Acting? Yes folks, these are the schmucks that you see begging for money, holding signs that read "UNEMPLOYED PLEASE HELP" while standing in front of a Wendy's with a help wanted sign. They can't act! Granted...it was a step up from the previous crew of misfits, but not by much. I would have also liked to know what happened to the other 2 people who lived in the last one. And know WHY Trevor just chilled for 5 years, or why he didn't start killing people while the camp was open. Or why they are going to make a part 3 when this film was basically the first only with blood.
The DVD itself isn't bad, but sure as shit not worth the $17.99 i paid for it. The picture is clean, and the sound is good, and while the "Jump to a bloody Murder" thing was cool...might have been nice to have a special feature that actually had to do with Bloody Murder 2. Not showcasing the scenes from the first and proving to the word how UNORIGINAL this sequel really is. We get 4 trailers on this film, they are actually more interesting then the movie is. The photo Gallery isn't anything more then still shots from the movie, so it is kind of worthless if you ask me.
I say, if you have seen the first film and were pissed off by it...chances are...your gonna get that stomach turning feeling all over again. Its the exact same story as the last one, I honestly believe they used the same script and asked the actors and actresses to just improvize the ENTIRE film. If you haven't seen the first, check this film out if there is nothing else to rent. but if you're like me...you will be screaming bloody murder by the time the credits role....
