Cabin By The Lake
Starring....Judd Nelson

Judd Nelson, Breakfast Club, you got to love this guy, but you also got to love this USA movie. Let me tell you right off the bat, I HATE TV MOVIES, detest them! Rather stab rusty meat hooks through my eye lids then watch one of those edited pieces of shit. But this film, I LOVED! Judd Nelson is the man, he plays the best psycho I have seen in years. And he is pretty damn funny what with his sarcastic phrases and all. Now the story is even better, this is one B-TV movie that is worth the moola.
Stanley is a writer who
is writing a script for a new movie that is coming out soon. He is on the phone
with his publisist and she tells him he needs to hurry up with finishing it.
"Well hurry up and drown the girl, we need to get this done."
"FIne! I will drown the girl!" and then he hangs up, he goes to his basement and opens a hidden door which reveals a woman chained up in his basement. He grabs her,and since his Cabin is BY THE LAKE, he drives her out on his boat to the middle of the lake where he ties cinderblocks to her feet. He pushes her in and drowns her. He then goes back and continues writing his script.
The film goes on like this, he captures another girl and she actually escapes from him. It is a really good film. I love the way Judd played Stanley, the dark humor he had in this film made it an instant classic. The sequel is out as well, Return to Cabin by The Lake, which is also reviewed on this site.
The only thing that was kind of lame was the fact that it seemed to short. If it had been longer, it would have been better but what can you do?
This is one of those films where you want the killer to make it out alive just so he can make a sequel and do it all over again. I highly recommend this flick to anyone that wants to see a good movie that was actually first aired on TV. Bring the kids, bring the girlfriend, shit bring the whole family! Cabin by the lake is one hell of a film.
