Nov 2004 Second Number One for Girls Aloud |
||
| Congratulations to the Girls for reaching the Number One with their seventh single, Stand By You. It's the second time they've hit the top spot and have previously reached Number Two with five of their other releases. Stand By You is a cover of the Pretender's hit and is accompanied by a very sultry and sexy video which is available on one of the CDs. | ||

Sept 2004 Belly good time girls - from The Sun |
||
| A
QUIET weekend for GIRLS ALOUD? Youve got to be joking...
They were spotted stumbling out of Londons Pangea nightclub in the early hours of Saturday but their tummies were still as flat as washboards so I guess the bender wasnt on beer. Super-toned CHERYL TWEEDY was joined by bandmates KIMBERLEY WALSH, NADINE COYLE and SARAH HARDING.Sarah was the most hammered. By the time she got into a cab her eyes were pointing in different directions. All the pics at http://www.thesun.co.uk/article/0,,4-2004422560,00.html. http://www.thesun.co.uk/popupWindow/0,,2004422605,00.html shows the full length shot of Kim and Cheryl - Kim's looking GORGEOUS - as usual! How fantastic do her legs look?! |

August 2004 On the lash |
||

Kimberley, her sister Sally and Nadine have been snapped, a little merrier than usual, leaving a nightclub and getting into a taxi. Big deal, I hear you say. Well, yes, except the excitement comes from the fact that Kim and Nadine are wearing rather short skirts and have not managed to escape flashing a little underwear at the camera. (It may not be a groundbreaking news story but the pics are quite nice.) |

July 2004 Lusting after Kimba - From Goss Girls - Daily Star |
||
|
From the paper that can't stop writing stories about the Pouty Goddess - whether true or not! Lusty Lemar, had a ball chatting up Girls Aloud babe Kimberley Walsh at a recent event. An onlooker at TFM live in Stockton said, "It was so sweet to see. They were giggling & flirting, & there was definately chemistry there!." So, watch this space. |

July 2004 Kim's lips are Pout-astic (From the paper that ADORES Kimberley - the Daily Star) |
||
|
Kimberley Walsh's pillow-esque lips are so sexy she's having to fight off men and women who want a snog. The Girls Aloud fave said, "We did a signing at G.A.Y and this girl was going on about my lips. I love you, she said, I love your lips. I was like - woah! I used to be paranoid about the size of my lips, but not anymore." Good - coz they're GORGEOUS. |

July 2004 Girls Aloud storm back into the charts |

| They've been away for months but their fans haven't forgotten them. Girls Aloud's new single "The Show" has stormed into the charts at Number Two, beaten only by Usher to the top spot. Well done Girls! | ||
| July
2004 The Show! (from the paper that loves Kimba - the Daily Star) |
||
|
Girls
aloud are set for a top 5 entry this week, with the first single off their
second album, "The Show". After their chart topping debut "Sound
of the underground" Kimberley admits the Popstars the Rivals winners
worry about their own chart future. She said, "unless you get top
3 with your first singles, then that's it. It's not fair, as it's too
much to expect from people when they've not got that much profile. We
had a big profile from the tv programme, but when your a new band starting
out you don't have that. You've got to make the most of what you've got.
Be grateful when you have got the chance to make another album. I think
people have bought into us more than others because of the music more
than anything. I'm a little bit scared, but I'm glad that everything seems
to be going well with our single." |

June 2004 Kimba on the prowl |
||
| WATCH
out fellas Yorkshire's own pop starlet Kimberley Walsh is on the
lookout for love, reports Leeds
Today
The Girls Aloud star is single again after splitting from boyfriend of four years, Stockport County midfielder Martin Pemberton. The former Trinity & All Saints College student has confessed that she's on the lookout for a new beau but says personality is more important than looks. The 22-year-old, from Allerton in Bradford, said: "I want to find someone who can make me laugh and is fun to be around, so it's more about personality. "He would have to be quiet but con'fid'ent and have some intrigue about him. I don't like guys who give everything away." Kimberley said work commitments had played a major part in the decision to call it a day with Martin. "We hardly saw each other to be fair. We were both really busy with work and that meant when we saw each other we took it out on each other. "We thought it best to cut our losses and go our separate ways. We are still on speaking terms." Kimberley was also keen to pour cold water on recent press speculation claiming she had undergone cosmetic surgery to put collagen implants in her lips. "That is just untrue," she said. "I would never consider cosmetic surgery. I'm not comfortable with the idea of going under the knife. It scares me." Kimberley and her fellow bandmates are now preparing for the release of their new single, The Show, which is released next week (28 June). The band will be performing in West Yorkshire next month as a support act for Blue at the McAlpine Stadium in Huddersfield on Saturday, July 31. "I am dying to see my friends and family as I haven't been up North for ages," she said. "So hopefully I can get home after the concert." |

June 2004 Kimba lets Nicola feel the power of the Pout |
||
| From
the Daily Star Kimberley diverted eyes (from some other incident when the Girls were out recently) by getting kinky with fellow bandmate Nicola Roberts... Kimberley was eager to prove that she hadn't had cosmetic surgery on her lips and puckered up to Nicola for a full on snog. The onlooker said "It was hilarious. Kimberley kissed her and then cheekily groped her bum. She clearly didn't care what other people thought. People were looking over and sniggering. Those girls seriously know how to party." And we'd have to agree. |

June 2004 The Daily Star's Love Affair with Kim |
||
| I can only conclude that The Daily Star adores Kimberley. They seem to write about her and print her picture every week. The latest is a bit of bizarre tabloid reasoning. They claimed at the weekend that Kim "Pouty Goddess" Walsh has had her lips plumped artificially because they look bigger in the latest promos and that an "insider" says her new Pout has given her new confidence (are you sure it's not the new hair doing that?). A "friend" said the size increase isn't down to injections, just some special cream and that they've always teased her about her lips being appropriate for certain things. The paper went on to say that Kim can get away with it - ie it looks good. Personally I don't think she's had them done. We could find endless numbers of pics showing her big, juicy Pout but hurray for more coverage for Kim. Everyone's starting to notice just how damn sexy she is. (Kim confirmed on CD UK that she HASN'T had any lip enhancement treatment. Her delicious pout is 100% natural - but we knew that). | ||

dont miss it!" More hype, this time from the CD UK site: "GIRLS ALOUD: The Show How long can you hold your breath? A few seconds? A minute? An Hour? (what? are you a fish or something?!?) Well we've been holding our breath for six entire months now. It's why we write such nonsense- cos absolutely no oxygen has reached our brains for quite some time! And why have we been holding our breath? Good question. Glad you asked. We've been holding our breath because we've been missing Girls Aloud. Frankly, without The Loud in our lives, petty things like air and oxygen and breathing just seem...well, pointless. We also haven't tied our shoelaces or combed our hair. Our houses are a mess, Our dogs need walking. And our pants are really beginning to whiff. But, as of next Saturday, that's all going to change, because the girls will be BACK! Back and live and absolutely exclusive on CDUK, performing their astonishingly ace new single, 'The Show'. Finally, our lives can pick up where we so stinkily let them drop six months ago! Huuuuuurah!" Are you excited?! |

May 2004 Girls Aloud in sense of humour failure shocker |
||
| (Probably
from the Sun. I'm concerned that maybe they're working too hard and have
forgotten to laugh. Plus it looks like Kimberley has been lured into Louis's
"if they're cute, let them get away with anything" philosophy.
Personally I think Frankee's song is funny and am bored with Eamon's whining
about his "whore". If you're going to criticise her, you should criticise
him too. It's not Frankee jumping on the band wagon, it's the record company
isn't it?! She's just another pawn. Come on GA - Bring back Girl Power!!) Girls Aloud have proved Girl Power is well and truly dead by slamming Frankee as a "cheap tart". Rather than siding with the singer, who claims she was the target of Eamon's ranting no1 f**k It, the lippy birds have had a pop at her. Kimberley Walsh told me. " We love Eamon. He's so cute and I felt for him when I heard his girlfriend had cheated on him." "Good on him for speaking up." Thankfully
, Cheryl Tweedy was, as ever, more vocal on the subject. She said: "
I would be feeling it more if she wasn't so nasty in her lyrics and if
she was genuinely the ex-girlfriend. But i just think she's trying to
jump on the bandwagon & it's a bit cheap & tarty. And he's taking
80% of her earnings. To be honest, on the first song,even though he sings
quite abruptly you can understand why. But she's just the opposite. She's
like 'I'm glad i didn't catch your crabs, you're s**t in bed' and i just
think 'ohh you're a really horrible girl'." |

May 2004 Nadine and Kimberley sleeping together |

| Unfortunately
it's more innocent than it sounds. Nadine has been plagued by phone calls
from a stalker and it scared her so much, she had to share a bed with Kimba
"Protector from Evil" Walsh. Nadine is quoted in the
Sun as saying: It really freaked me out. I couldnt be by
myself so I slept with Kimberley. Not nice for Nadine to get stalked but what an excuse to get into bed with the Pouty Goddess! |

Feb 2004 The Mirror says Kimberley has split up with Martin |
||
|
If this is true, I think this is really sad. Hope they're both ok. "IT'S
GIRLS ALONE For we can reveal that yet another of the lovely lasses has split from her long-term boyfriend. This time it's the turn of Kimberley Walsh, below, who has dumped her lover, footballer Martin Pemberton. The 22-year-old Bradford lass was seeing the Stockport County player before she found fame on hit ITV show Popstars: The Rivals. But gorgeous Kimberley has called time on their three-year romance because of that age-old showbiz problem - busy schedules. That leaves Nicola Roberts, 18, as the only member with a fella. Her relationship with Liverpool student Carl Egerton is still going strong after two years. A friend of Kimberley's tells us: "She and Martin are both really upset about the split. "They managed to hold things together this past year but the distance between them just became too much. "He lives in Bradford and she's based down in London. They were just seeing less and less of each other. When that happens the strain on the relationship just gets too much. "Even though they are no longer together, they still speak on the phone and are totally supportive of one another. "But in the end they just had to be realistic. Things are raw but they're determined to remain civil. "Now
they are single, the girls have vowed to send each other Valentine's day
Ah, how sweet. Kimberley is the fourth member of the manufactured group to opt for the single life this year. Last night a band spokesman said: "Kimberley has split from her boyfriend. It was amicable, there was no one else involved and they are still friends." |

Jan Kim's got a new set of wheels (from the Daily Star) |
||
|
Pictures: Kim by her car & Kim in her car Girls
Aloud babe Kimberley Walsh is over the va-va voom after treating herself
to a brand new sporty motor. Kimberley's dad John drove her & her sister Amy 16, to motor dealers JCT 600 to collect the silver blue car. And she couldn't wait to take it for a spin. "I've
been driving since I was 17 but this is the first new car I've ever bought,
" she said. " I haven't had one for a while and I looked at
a Z3 and other sporty ones , but i wanted to take passengers in the back."
We reckon she's the one who should take advantage - and get a fast - running meter fixed onto the dashboard. No doubt she'll will be whizzing down the M1 in her new toy - she joins the rest of the band in London this week to start recording their second album. Perhaps, given Kimberley's new wheels, they can cover that that Vanessa Paridis classic ' Joe Le Taxi '? or perhaps Road to Nowhere by Torque-ing Heads. |

Nov 2003 Girls are Number Two |
||
| Pipped to the post by Westlife, Girls Aloud have scored another sizzling hit proving all the non-believers that a year on and with numerous troubles hopefully now behind them, Girls Aloud are here to stay. "Jump" has leapt into the charts at Number Two. The tabloids were quick to suggest that Girls Aloud were over following Cheryl's conviction for assault. But the press forgot several important factors - GA's solid, supportive fan base, the great music that GA sings, their fantastic performances and the fact that no other girl band comes close to them. Congratulations Girls. You're going from strength to strength. | ||

when a purple and white attired Kimberley was unusually talkative. And she
looked stunning. Bootyliscious.

June 2003 Girls off to Oz |

| Rumour
has it the Girls are off the Australia for promotion and to film their new
vid. The webmaster is very excited at this news as it's been too long since
that bikini/jacuzzi shot of the Final Ten and the probability of the Girls
being photographed in bikinis while in Australia must surely be very high. On the next single, Annie Walsh (Girls Aloud fan extraordinaire) had a chat on the phone with the Lush Puppy herself, who said that Life Got Cold may just be the next release due to popular feedback from the fans and media. And it's her favourite song on the album - "quite miserable, but in a good way". |

May 2003 Sound of the Underground - reviewed and released |
||
| SOTU
the album (out 26th May) has had mainly terrific reviews. Here are some
of the comments floating around: Misc - Sure they are a totally manufactured product but they seem to have more soul and character then most, this album is cool for getting in a party mood, it has some decent songs so you may want to check it out. Amazon.co.uk - The album is an enjoyable and surprising journey through the most popular styles of contemporary pop.Top marks to the girls for coming up with an album that succeeds far more than anyone could have predicted. BBC - Girls Aloud are in danger of becoming the best UK pop group since the Spice Girls. The third track, Some Kind of Miracle, has lovely layered vocals with its slow tempo despite being more formulaic. Life Got Cold is a charming ballad that should be the next single. If it was on the new Madonna album, it would have been hailed as a work of genius. The Guardian - The album is jolly, laden with spiky guitars, zippy beats and lyrics curiously insistent upon Girls Aloud's musical credibility and autonomy of thought. Make up your own mind when you buy it on Monday! |

poster from Woolies, A DVD with the SOTU vid and a behind the scenes look
at NGA, or a normal CD with B side song On a Round.
The album's out on 26th May. |

April 2003 Campaign to get No Good Advice played more |
||
| Visit www.koko.com, locate your local radio station and bombard them with requests for the Girls' new single "No Good Advice". I don't know about you but I haven't heard it on the radio once yet and I think it's our duty, as Girls Aloud fans, to ensure this record gets to Number 1. | ||

March 2003 No Good Advice video on TV |
||
CD-UK will be showing the terrestrial premiere of Girls Aloud's new vid "No Good Advice" on the 5th April (11.30am, ITV1 - repeated 4pm ITV2). So not long to go thankfully. If you have digital telly you should be able to catch the Girls on The Box from 1st April. And one more alert for digital viewers, watch out
for a performance from the Girls on MTV's free TMF channel on 17th April
5-6pm - SOTU I imagine. |

March 2003 On the fringe |
||
|
CD-UK's
catch up with Girls Aloud revealed some interesting new images for Cheryl
and Kimberley. Cheryl's locks have been chopped while Kimberley's been
given a fringe (if you don't like it at first, give it time). The Girls
were doing a "behind the scenes" of their vid for new single "No Good
Advice", which sounds fantastic. Silver is the colour of the day and some
dodgy pale lipstick but maybe it will all make sense in the finished version.

March 2003 Cheryl heads home as Girls pull out of Birmingham gig |
||
|
The Gorgeous Geordie has headed back to Newcastle for the weekend following serious assault charges being brought against her on Thursday by police in Surrey. The Girls were set to appear on Comic Relief night on Fri but they weren't on the show and they've now pulled out of performing at an event in Birmingham on Sunday 16 March. A spokesperson (according to the Mirror) says that Cheryl is shocked by the charge and bosses wouldn't expect her to perform under these circumstances. The Girls WILL be on CD-UK on Saturday morning though - 11.30am ITV1 (repeated ITV2 4pm). |

Feb 2003 Not Aloud Out Again |
||
| Louis Walsh and Polydor records have put a stop to the Girls attending any showbiz bashes to keep them out of the public eye until they've had at least two more number ones (shouldn't be long then). Louis said "Polydor don't want to ruin things with too much publicity." They haven't put a complete ban on the Girls going out anywhere, just places where they can be snapped by the pap. I agree, so you can come round mine if you like Girls. I won't tell anyone. | ||

Feb 2003 Forthcoming TV appearances |
||
| While
we have to wait till May for the Girls' new single, you can still catch
them on TV this month: ? 4 March - Oblivious Popstars (9.30pm on ITV1) ? 14 March - Comic Relief (BBC1) |

Feb 2003 It's the Sound of the Down-Underground |
||
| Girls Aloud's first chart-topping single Sound of the Underground is set for release in Germany on 3 March and in Australia on 10 March, you lucky, lucky people. Not sure if they'll be doing PAs or not. | ||

Feb 2003 Tour cancelled |

The
tour of Popstars the Rivals' Girls Aloud and One True Voice has been cancelled
allegedly due to poor ticket sales - and the gutter press are loving it. |

Feb 2003 New single! |
||
| Well, it looks like we may have confirmation on the new single. Official sources say that the Girls will be releasing a song called "No Good Advice" on May 12th (oh, so long to wait). It will be featuring on the Box in April - I guess once they've actually shot the vid. And rivalry with the boys is off as the Girls want to distance themselves from all that stuff now and be a band in their own right. Go Girls! | ||

Feb 2003 The single saga continues |
||
| Louis Walsh has reportedly said he is "delighted" the Rivals tour is off as they can now concentrate on the next video (hurray). He says the new single has been written by the same guy that penned SOTU but it's better (sounds good to me). No confirmation of dates yet though and I still hope that leather trousers will feature on Kimberley in the new video. | ||

Feb 2003 You're not welcome at the Brit Awards? |
||
|
The
organisers of the Brits have allegedly told Girls Aloud (amongst others)
to stay away from the Brits as manufactured pop bands are not welcome
- only real bands(!). Do I smell double standards? |

Feb 2003 Girls out on the town |
||
| Kimberley,
Cheryl, Nadine and Nicola were seen partying the night away in celeb hangout
Chinawhite in London. The Mirror reckons this night out was against the
wishes of record company Polydor but luckily they didn't get into any trouble.
What's wrong with letting your hair down now and then? |

Jan 2003 Cheryl arrested |
||
| The Sunday Mirror claims Cheryl Tweedy of Girls Aloud was detained by police on Friday night for punching a toilet attendant. The attendant claims the punch was accompanied by a tirade of racist abuse, although this has not been confirmed (more like the story was accompanied by a large cheque and some classic tabloid lies). Cheryl spent ten hours sobering up in a police cell before being released in time to appear on Ant & Dec's Grab The Ads show on Saturday night. Cheryl's place in the band is NOT under threat, officials have since said. | ||
