Free Unique & Exotic Backgrounds

Are you tired of searching for backgrounds for your website and finding the same old tired sites that offer the same old tired links? I was! I searched for websites that offer unique and exotic backgrounds. Here are some that I really liked. Links open in a new window to make it easier to visit more than one site.

Graphic Castle has 1180 original free backgrounds to preview. They are unique and colorful. I especially liked the vivid detail in the designs. It is definitely worth the visit if you are looking for something unusual!

Backgrounds by Tickie has over 1100 seamless tiles as well as webpage themes. Just mouse over the images to see the background. Included is a color chart to see how the different text colors will look on the background.

Free Backgrounds 2002 has hundreds of pages of backgrounds and images to view. Use the index site page for easy navigation. Lots of pages!

If you're looking for a busy background look for your website, then visit The Bastard's Background Stash. 100% original, created by The Bastard while stinking blind drunk, so he says. And I believe him, just look at his designs! And don't forget to put on your shades!

Webbnutt Graphics has an original collection of tiles and sets. All previews open up in a new window with sample text. Don't let the labels confine your search, some sets may qualify for different categories. Webbnutt Graphics also has awards you can apply for.

Wattacroc Backgrounds has 19 pages of backgrounds to view. While surfing through them I found many unique ones I have not seen to date. There is also a page of solid color backgrounds with the hex code, great for making banners.

Don't expect your normal fare like marble or wood textures at Wacky-Background. While I love the unique and exotic, even I found the backgrounds here to be pretty far out. (I never saw grass that looked like that!) (That's cloth? Who's your designer?) (Starscape? Terrain? Where ever do you live?)

While I found the backgrounds at Realm Graphics to be a little too tame and ordinary, I did like the TotalView. Do you know of an image you think would make an excellent tiled background? Use the TotalView! You can tile any image anywhere on the web and show it as a background. Even choose an appropriate text and link color. Just type in the full URL to the image and press Submit!

Nevr2L8's Bars/Lines/Divider Gifs is THE place to go if you need dividers for your webpages! A great selection! There are hundreds! You've got to see this site!
