Canine Lameness and Piroxicam
Piroxicam is a non-steroidal anti-inflammatoy drug (NSAID) that also has anti-tumor properties.
It is most often used in pets for the treatment of certain types of cancers, especially bladder cancer.

Contact your veterinarian if your pet experiences depression, loss of appetite, diarrhea, vomiting, constipation, bloody or black stools, an increase in drinking and/or urination, jaundice (e.g., yellowing of the gums, skin, or whites of the eyes), incoordination, seizures, behavior changes, lethargy, shedding, hot spots while being treated with piroxicam. Use with extreme CAUTION in cats.

Do not give with other NSAIDs (e.g., aspirin, etodolac (EtoGesic), deracoxib (Deramaxx), meloxicam (Metacam), carprofen (Rimadyl)); steroids (e.g., prednisone, prednisolone, dexamethasone, triamcinolone); or phenylbutazone. There is a greatly increased risk of stomach ulcers if used with these medications.
