CAROLINA PANTHERS 31 - DETROIT LIONS 7

The Detroit Lions season is gradually getting worse as the Lions record went to 0-2 after they lost 00-00 to the Carolina Panthers. after a start like the Lions have had, it is looking increasingly likely that the Lions are going to continue on the road that they traveled on last year when they went 2-14.

The game between the Carolina Panthers and the Detroit Lions started slow as the Panthers had already had two missed Field Goals as one was tipped the Detroit Lions and the other was just a straight forward missed field goal from 40 yards out meanwhile the Detroit Lions weren't producing much on offence. But the first score came with 3:30 left in the second quarter when Panthers kicker John Kasay made it third time lucky and nailed a 23 yard field goal. The lions punted on there following two drives and then ex-Detroit Lion Rodney Peete threw a 22 yard touchdown pass to Panthers wide out Muhammad making the score 10-0 Panthers going into the half. The Lions came out for the second half and forced the Panthers to punt on there first drive of the second half, The Lions then scored on a 11 yard scramble by Mike McMahon. The Panthers then responded to the Lions score as Lamar Smith ran in three yards for a Touchdown. Detroit then got the ball back and Mike McMahon was intercepted by the Panther Minter and he returned it 40 yards for a Touchdown. The Lions then brought Joey Harrington in at Quarterback and for the Following Lions drives the Panthers Defense forced Detroit to Punt the ball. And on Carolinas next drive they scored on a 1 yard run from Lamar Smith. The Lions were once again Forced to punt on there next drive and the Panthers got the ball and just simply ran down the clock.

The Lions couldn't put anything together in today's game and overall played a very bad game which once again resulted in a loss putting them 0-2.

Game Ball - Carolina Panthers Julius Peppers ( Peepers is a rookie as he was the Carolina Panthers first draft pick of 2002. He has got my Game Ball because he had 3 sacks in the first half alone and he also had 5 tackles and a tipped ball, Overall a great game to say he is a rookie.)

Team Grade - E ( I have given the Lions a grade E for there Performance because they could not put anything together they got into the Panthers half quite often but just couldn't produce anything on offence the Defense played strong in the first half but fell apart during the second.)
