• They bury the dead in the gardens, making the gardens both well fertilized and a remembrance place.
  • Lighting comes from fireflies and glowing moss (grown on the ceilings, their growth is controlled by work-crews as a punishment detail)
  • There is a small stream running down the mountain about a 1/2 mile to the east of the Hall
  • A freshwater, large stream runs under the mountain, partially through the storage room. It's diverted via piping in the floors to the bathrooms (cold water) and to the cisterns (to be cleaned further and warmed)
  • The cisterns cleanse water that's been used for bathing, and heat it (they're connected to a hot spring) before it's pumped through the under-floor pipes.
  • The Hall is heated via the hot-water pipes, as warmth rises and there are small vent-holes in the piping (the pipes are made big enough that water will not seep out of the vent holes)
  • The floors of the Hall are made of stone, but the Bonded usually purchase floor rugs from the Market for decoration and comfort purposes.
  • There is an observatory on the top of the mountain. Students have the option of studying the stars, and the bonded often observe the stars as a hobby, especially falconpairs.
  • Kitten Leopards keep the Hall free of rodents as both practice for hunting and for 'fun'.
  • The merchants have nearby places where they grow 'exotic' foods in caves on the mountain, such as mushrooms.
  • About 1/4 of the Bonded are in residence at the Hall at any given time. Bonded on "Leave" are at the Isle, Bonded on Circuit are traveling around, and Posted Bonded are in residence at a major city. The Bondhall is used for rest-time, and for training new bondfolk. The young Keltoi are also at the BondHall most of the time.
