Catherine reopens Eckly's 15 year old case after viewing a video taped confession by terminally ill killer, Mark Kelso. Kelso denies killing her best friend and fellow dancer Stephanie Watson. Catherine seeks out her mentor Jimmy Tadero to discuss the Watson case. Tadero asks her "What never lies?" She reasons with, "The Evidence." She grabs Warrick and heads back to CSI to take a look at the evidence. Warrick finds the evidence box and searches through it. Catherine holds up a G-string and says, "This is my old life." Warrick gives her a weak smile and says, "Yeah? We all have a past right?"
Catherine flashes back to the night Stephanie was murdered. Stephanie asks Catherine if they are on for tonight. Catherine tells her no that Eddie has a gig and to forgive her. That would be the last she would see of her friend.
Greg is inspecting the knife blade in the DNA Lab. Watson's blood is on the blade, Kelso's blood is on the knife handle. After inspecting the knife handle under infrared light, Catherine decides to take the knife to Trace when she discovers a weak blood spatter. Greg runs the spatter turns out to be male and not Kelso. Eckly wants to know why they are working evidence that he just signed off to be destroyed. Catherine explains what's going on and the three find that a key piece of evidence, a bloody torn glove is missing. Eckly remembers it and they learn that Tadero logged it in. Catherine pays Tadero a visit.
Tadero and Catherine go back to the scene of the murder. "You always used to say, 'If something doesn't feel right it probably isn't.'" She asks if he's hiding anything. He gets very upset with her.
Warrick runs Kelso's glove. Finds Kelso's blood and saliva. Catherine thinks he suffered a mouth injury. She goes back to Tidario and aks for his blood sample. She gets a warrant. Catherine believes Tadero may have set Kelso up. Tests are ran and Warricks brings Catherine the DNA results. He offers to read the results for her. He was excluded on the murder weapon.
Tadero was wrong on Kelso. She tells him that she must do her report. He could get life in prison or the death penalty.
Tadero tells her that "I can't believe you're doing this to me. I gave you your career." Catherine shoots back "I earned my career. And you did this to yourself. You fabricated evidence." Tadero "You were two steps from turning tricks. And this is the thanks I get?" Catherine visibly stung by his words stats "I danced - period. And instead of feeling sorry for yourself, think about this: While you were out there planting evidence on a case that you couldn't break Stephanie's real killer got away. And he's still out there. Because you sold the one thing that a cop can't afford to sell, your integrity. So you tell me between the two of us, who's the whore?" Catherine's mentor is arrested and she tells him he can hate her all he wants she's going to see him through it.
Catherine goes back and marks DO NOT DESTROY - Case Unsolved on Stephanie Watson's evidence box.
Tadero used to visit Catherine backstage while she made herself up to go on. Tidario changes her life as they play, "What's the case of the week?" He discusses cases with her, she tries to solve them. Strictly mentor/pupil.
Was the suspected killer's first name Mark Kelso as shown on the video tapped confession or Dwight Kelso as shown on blood evidence form.
Where did Kelso's glove come from? Did Tadero have it?
