THE NEW ERA OF MEGA-ZINE
Those of you who read my most recent message on this site will know that I had given 'Zine up for dead. The quality had declined beyond belief, and there seemed little hope of a revival. Then, in July 2006, it was announced that the page would be ending for good as part of a Teletext revamp. However, a few days later it was declared - possibly influenced by a 'Ziner campaign - that 'Zine would live on, albeit only on Digital Text. It now resides on Page 839, via ITV's text pages.
With this new lease of life, there is renewed hope that 'Zine could return to something like its former self, and many notable former 'Ziners seem keen to contribute once again.
None of this changes the situation with the website (which is really just a museum now): I won't be going back to regular updates or anything, but I felt it was worth putting this statement up to encourage the further revival of a once-great institution. Please head over to the Mega-zine Letters board on Vegetable Revolution, via my Links Page, for the latest comments on 'Zine and an archive of printed letters.
