This Is My War Dog Page
I first became aware of these special
heroes just searching the web. I could
not believe what I was reading!
How could we leave these special
dogs in Vietnam!

These dogs were specially trained and
they saved many lives. Unlike WWII,
over 4,000 dogs were left in Vietnam
to either be put to sleep or left
in Vietnam!
Here is a page full of links about
these Special Heroes!

They are truly the forgotten HEROES!
My Buddy
I was born in a small town in Ohio, in a big
house. Now here I am in Vietnam with
my buddy laying here on the ground not
moving. The loud noises are getting
louder! I push my buddy again and
again, but he isn't moving! I must get
him out of danger. I start to move him
and each time I move there is a bad
pain in my side, but I have to keep
moving him out of danger! It is raining
hard and the ground is all muddy. I keep
moving my buddy away from the loud
noises. He's been my best friend for
a long time now and I have grown
very close to him. I am having more and
more pain as I move him out of danger and
am
feeling very weak! The noise is far away
now
and he is safe, I try again to get him
to wake up but he does not move. Then, out
of
no where, there is a loud noise right above
us
and men running towards us. They put me
and
my buddy on stretchers, then I just passed
out.
When I opened my eyes, I was in such a
beautiful place....the colors where
beautiful,
and everything was so bright. There were
many people there and some of them were
so beautiful and had wings on their backs.
As I lay in this hospital bed, recovering I
just can't get my buddy out of my head.
He had become my best friend! He saved
my life! I keep looking at his picture, a
beautiful German Shepard and I am sure
he is in a very special place with the
Angels!
