"It is not a bad idea to get in the habit of writing down one's thoughts. It saves one having to bother anyone else with them."

Welcome into a brand new year.

It's a new year, and as such I'm supposed to have a list of New Year's Resolutions. So... here they are:

  1. Maintain my friends in the US
  2. Learn Chinese
  3. Be healthy
  4. Read more News Articles
  5. Write more regularly on my website
  6. Learn to rollerblade

man. not much of a list. But if I had too long of a list, it'd be harder to keep even one of them.

let's see... now I need a plan.

Implementation Plan:

  • Maintaining Friendships
    1. Make Outlook remind me of all my friends' birthdays
    2. Call three friends/week
    3. Get on AIM during my lunch hour

  • Learning Chinese
    1. Learn five new words/phrases a night
    2. Get a book of Chinese proverbs from Aunt
    3. Learn one proverb a week and use it as much as possible within that time

  • Be healthy
    1. NO candy
    2. NO cookies
    3. Eat vegetables
    4. Take vitamins after breakfast
    5. Eat fruit
    6. Exercise every morning at 5 am for half an hour and Sunday mornings for 1.5 hours

  • Keeping up-to-date with the world
    1. Read the top news stories on CNN.com daily

  • Write more regularly on my website
    1. Write every Saturday
    2. Make an effort to write every other day of the week as well

  • Learn to Rollerblade
    1. Buy roller blades
    2. Practice for an hour every sunday (while in China) weather permitting
