You don't need super powers to be a hero. Even the most unassuming and "regular" person can show the resolve and courage to do great things. Heroism isn't swooping in to save a city full of people from some apocalyptic event. In many cases, heroism is simply touching one person's life at a time when he or she needs help. Heroes don't have a broad desire to protect 'Truth and Justice' or anything like that. Sometimes, they don't even know why they do what they do except that it seemed to be the right thing to do, that they are needed. Above and beyond all else, heroes are human. Powers make the story more dramatic, more fantastic. These stories are about people who have a will to make things better.
