Skills
Characters should be well thought out, such as what hobbies they persue and what they excel at. Skills must be explained in length just as powers will be, and there will be no 'master of martial arts' types, less you want your application tossed out.

Powers
Powers are NOT NECESSARY! They are only to be used to spice up a character, they should not be a crutch. Below are examples of what will be outright denied (Completely Unallowable), what we'll give you on a second to fourth character only (Barely Allowable), and what can be used at any time (Completely Allowable).

Completely Unallowable (Ryoko from Tenchi Muyo, people who summon 11 Final Fantasy summons at once)
Invulnerability	Being impervious to all attacks.
Omnipotence	'Hey, Bobby. I know your Mother is doing your Dad's Mechanic and then I was dude, wtf. So I killed him and did her too. AHAHAHA. *blows up the world*'
Mind Control	* Character1 walks into the room, and makes all the women incredibly horny for him
Luck Manipulation	* Character1 dodges all the bullets being fired at him, which by cause of luck, they somehow kill all of his enemies. Character1 never breaks a sweat.
Super Intellect	Roughly middle ages / early renaissance technology to developing a Physics which predicted black holes and other planets with intelligent life, capable of interstellar travel, in less than a year.
High-Level Telekenesis	Lifting Mecha/Warships/Space ships with your mind
Incorporeal Form	Attacks pass completely through you, if you do something bad you can't be caught (we actually had someone explain his power like this. He was quickly denied.)
Anything WAY Overexaggerated	Infinite super abilities like strength and speed (Like Superman or The Flash) Spells such as Dragu Slave, Ultima, Doomsday, the Summons from Final Fantasy games which ahnillate entire cities instantly City/state/country sized spells/ki techniques/special attacks such as those from Dragonball Z, or the Shun Goku Satsu from Street Fighter
Barely Allowable (Spider-man from Marvel Comics)
Teleportation	Teleportation to anywhere is a possible loophole for metagaming ('I teleported in and overheard everything so you cannot suprise me even if this is a mission, HAHA!')
Fast-As-Thought speed	They can't dodge individual bullets or lasers. But they can dodge at very nearly the same speed as human reflexes can track them.
Kokoryuha	A very very deadly (to user and opponent) attack where a black dragon of evil energy is summoned. The attack can significantly hurt some of the strongest opponents, but the spirital energy used during it causes the user to drop unconcious for hours.
Mid-Level Toughness	Being unhurt by all things of the low level, though also large gunfire like a rifle.
Mid-Level Telekenesis	Lifting 100-200 lbs with your mind
Completely Allowable (Meran from Brigadoon, Van Flighard from Zoids: Chaotic Century)
Low-level Telekenesis	Lifting 1-50 lbs with your mind
Telepathy	Non-Agressive, just speaking back and forth
Super Abilities with a defined, low limit	Super Strength of 500-1000 lbs Super Speed of 60-90 mph
Low Level Toughness	Being unhurt by melee weaponry like knives/darts/small swords, or small guns

There are some character archetypes that we will not allow. They are listed below.

Omnipotent	Gods, Goddesses, Demons
Ultimate Powers	Races of Tenchi Muyo (Juraians, Masu, etc) Races of Dragonball Z (Saiyajins, Nameks, etc)
And.. Sickeningly Powerful/Masters	Jedi Knights, Sithlords, High-Level Newtypes (Amuro Rei), Battle Angel/Gunm-type cyborgs (Gally), Partryns and their Brethern, K'Tarl K'Tarl, ANYTHING from The Slayers

Angels are now allowed, but this does not mean that you can play a Fallen Angel (that would be the same as a demon), Angels such as Michael, Azreal, Uriel... the angel you apply for must not have a domain which they rule over. If they do, then they will be denied immediately for being, basically, Gods.

All characters with powers will have weaknesses, no matter how weak their powers are, or if they're racial. When we mean weaknesses, we mean things that hamper/cancel out your character's powers. Such as Green Lantern's weakness to yellow, or Superman to Kryptonite.

We require that you write a legible, 2 paragraph history for your character, which explains how and why they recieved their powers. Do note, there is a limit to the suspension of reality, so you cannot say 'My character is a cyborg because the Japanese mafia of reality made her so!'. That's very stupid.

If you decide to make your character a mage or a ki user, then please note that also having powers will make your character even less acceptable.

Ki Techniques are limited to 3 at start. They can learn/develop more only by op's consent.

Magic users get 5 spells to start. They too can learn more, but again, only by op's consent.

Whitewolf (World of Darkness) Mages, Wraiths, and Hunters will not be allowed. Vampires may go no lower than 8th gen, and no higher than 13th, Werewolves may not be beyond Rank 2.

Super Martial Arts	Dragonball/Z/GT, Fist of the North Star, Ninja Scroll, JoJo's Bizarre Adventure
Omnipotent/Ungodly Powerful	Ah! My Goddess, Tenchi Muyo, Angel Sanctuary, Super Robot animes, The Slayers, Bastard!!, Tekkaman Blade 1 and 2, Detonator Orgun
Plotless Carnage Candy/Hack 'n Slash Games	First Person Shooters such as Doom and Quake, Diablo II, Phantasy Star Online

No matter which you choose, please do note that we do not allow series villians (such as, for example, Ryuko Saitou from Generator Gawl, or Grahf from Xenogears, or even Sephiroth from Final Fantasy 7) as characters. Asking for a villian character as a pc will be frowned upon, as this game focuses less on combat, and more on story.

Also, it's advised that you do not choose a fighting game character or one that 'just wants to spar'. Reason stated above, this is not a combat oriented channel.

If you apply for a main character from any series, then never expect them to always win. The only way they will win some fights is by powergaming, and powergaming means you get banned.

A final note on characters, their way of getting into the setting if they are not from present-day earth MUST be through the Rifts, and there must be a very good reason for them to come through made by the player. One will not be made by the Gamemaster for them. This is just as important as the rest of the character.
