CHAPTER 6
“I would love to go to Orlando, but I can’t miss school.” I was afraid to go with him but this week was spring break. “This week is Spring Break! Of course you can come! Please…”Jacob cried. I agreed and went home, got clothes, and met him at the airport. The cameras were still around taping every move. People were staring and fans were screaming. I felt odd. Jacob put his arm around me and reassured me everything would be okay. The boys signed autographs and everyone asked who I was.
“This is my friend.” He responded to everyone. Girls sneered at me and gave me nasty looks. Finally, Lou pulled the guys away from the fans so we could board the plane. “I have a meeting right away when I get to Orlando with some new management. What are you going to do?” Jacob asked. I shook my head.
“Dan’s girlfriend is coming down, she is cool you could hang out with her.” Ashley and Dan both nodded.
“Shelli is coming down to. She is supposed to meet me at the airport when we arrive. She will be with Cindy.” Ashley said. Jacob looked at Ashley confused. “We are still best friends.” Ashley grinned.
“Wait until you meet Shelli, she’s a trip!” Dan added. I laughed and Ashley and Dan told me about their girlfriends all the way back to Orlando. When we got to Orlando, there was a ton of fans but the guys were too busy. Cindy and Shelli were waiting there when we arrived. The guys headed to their meeting and Cindy, Shelli, and I went shopping.

I felt bad to leave Taylor alone with Shelli and Cindy because they are just so much different then her. I figured Cindy would be nice but Shelli wouldn’t. We met with our new management, Mike Cronin and Mike Morin. It was a 3 hour long meeting so I slept the last 2 hours. On the way back, Dan, Ash, and I started talking about the girls. I told everyone how Taylor really was and I didn’t think her and Shelli would get along. Everyone agreed with me, even Ashley. Cindy is just an all around good person. Trevor talked to us about his girlfriend, Kelly. She was flying in tomorrow. Erik didn’t have a girlfriend. When we finally arrived home, the girls where there. I walked into the house and saw Shelli and Cindy around my door to my room. “She isn’t coming out.” Cindy said as she ran towards Dan and me. “She locked herself in and isn’t coming out.” Cindy was feeling terrible. I ran outside and climbed up to my window. I jumped in my room and Taylor wasn’t there. I looked in my closet and she was sitting there, bleeding out of her wrists and ankles. I picked her up and unlocked the door. “Jacob, is she okay?” Cindy asked. I rushed her out to the car.
“Jacob, let me go. Please.” Cindy pleaded. I agreed and we drove off. Cindy drove and I sat in back with Taylor across my lap, trying to wake her up. Cindy talked about the day. Shelli bought a lot and spent a lot of money, Cindy bought some things but Taylor talked about how she couldn’t afford anything. When they got home, Taylor went straight to my room and locked herself in.
“She said she wasn’t feeling good.” Cindy explained. We arrived at the hospital. Taylor was unconscious. The doctors took her from there. I was out of my mind so Cindy tried to calm me down. Two long hours went by before the doctors finally came out.
“We repaired her veins but her nerves will be messed up. She is in and out of consciousness but she would like to see you, Jacob.” The doctor explained. I slowly walked into her room and saw her smiling softly when I walked in. She looked so frail and soft. I started to cry.

When Jacob started to cry, it made me cry. “I didn’t mean to really.” I thought he would be mad but instead he was very caring. “Are you okay?” I asked quietly.
“I’m fine but are YOU okay?” He said sadly. I shook my head. “Why did you do it?” He asked. “I can’t afford to hang around with Shelli or Cindy. Shelli just made me feel so bad, how she was talking about her and Ashley and how they have been together for so long. I am just fed up with everything and I told them my life story and it hurt me to tell them, so I thought the only way to escape it was to leave for good. I’m sorry if I hurt you.” I said sobbing.
“It’s okay, I’m okay. I promise you didn’t effect anything serious. It is more important to me to be here with you then with the band. If you want, I can quit.” He said softly. I shook my head. “Suit yourself. I’m going to run home and get some clothes so I can stay with you and I’m sure Cindy wants to get home too. I will be back.” He leaned in and kissed me softly on the cheek. “Bubye.” I was in shock. HE KISSED ME, Was the only thing I could think. I peacefully went back to sleep. When I woke up it was 2 a.m. the next morning. Jacob was sleeping in a reclining chair. I yawned and Jacob woke up right away.
“You okay?” He asked in a panic. I just nodded and shook my head.
“Good.” He said sitting up by my bed, taking my hand and holding it tight.
CHAPTER 7
We went to a very romantic restaurant where we could dance also. When we hit the dance floor for a slow dance I almost died in his arms. It was the best night I had ever had since my attempts. Jacob held me close and rested his head on mine. He is 5 inches taller than I am so it was easy for him to rest his head. He told me he loved me over and over throughout the night. When the night was over we went home. I had been sleeping on the pullout bed in the couch and tonight he slept on the couch with me. The next morning came and we had to leave at 5 a.m. for New York but we didn’t leave until 6. Mike Cronin was mad and he found out that we went out last night. He quickly got over as Jacob introduced me to him. Mike is a tall guy with blonde hair and is the brother of Rich from LFO, to be exact.
“It is very nice to meet you Taylor. Hopefully I can be some assistance to you with your career also.” Mike said shaking my hand gently as if I would break. I smiled and nodded. We were on the plane to New York and I sat right between Jacob and Mike. Mike acted as if he was hitting on me the whole time. Finally Jacob switched me spots so he could talk to Mike. I feel asleep before we landed when Jacob woke me up. We were in New York and headed to TRL! I was so excited, I always watch TRL and I had the biggest crush on Carson and now to finally meet him was great! We got there at 1:30 and the guys headed for sound check while I went to make-up. Then the guys joined me about 2:30. We went into a small room to meet Carson and I was so scared that he would find out my ‘secret’. I held onto Jacob’s arm really tight and when Carson got up to greet us, I passed out. I felt like the biggest fool, you wouldn’t believe it. I woke up five minutes later, just in time to see Jacob and the guys go onto the show. I watched with eyes wide open and then they introduced me and called me out. Carson gave me a big hug and we discussed my recording. Unfortunately, Jacob told Carson that I played the guitar so just for my embarrassment, Carson, Jacob, and Ashley pulled out guitars and brought mine out. We gave Carson a little lesson on how to play “All or Nothing”. And with that, Carson and the band went for dinner later that night and then home.
“Did you enjoy yourself today?” Jacob asked me. I nodded. “Good. You scared the hell out of me when you passed out!” Jacob laughed and hugged me. I cuddled into his arms and fell fast asleep and as we arrived home he and I stayed in the car and talked then finally went inside. I called my family right away when I got home.
“Mom, it’s me, Taylor.” “Taylor, honey! How is Orlando?”
“Good good. How is Cherish and Lucy?” “Lucy is very sick. We aren’t sure what is wrong. It is bugging the hell out of Cherish.”
“What are the doctors thinking?”
“Leukemia. I think it would be nice if you came home and spent some time with Cherish and Lucy and even the rest of the family. We would enjoy it.”
“I wish I could but I’m finishing my album in the next two weeks. Why don’t you bring Lucy down here to the children’s clinic? I will pay to have Cherish and Lucy down here.” “That is very nice Taylor but I think Cherish should stay here. You can talk to her.” Her mom kindly gave the number to the room out and Taylor called Cherish.
“Cherish, this is Taylor. I just talked to mom and I’m paying to have you and Lucy fly out to take Lucy to the children’s clinic down here. Please come and visit.”
“Are you serious Taylor. You would do that for me and Lucy?” Cherish asked excitedly. “You are my sister of course I would! I will have tickets done tomorrow.” Cherish and Taylor talked a while longer then hung up. She ran straight to Jacob to tell him the news and he was excited. They celebrated then went to bed.
