Chapter 1

"Damn it." Amanda said as her car came to a complete stop. She turned the key and the car started for a second but then quickly died again. 'Just great. This is not what I need right now.' She thought as she looked around at the rather dark alley her car had decided to die in. She had been driving around trying to find a detour to the highway when her car stalled and died. So there she was sitting in a dark alley at 2am in the morning. She slowly got out of her car, looking around as she did to see if there was anyone nearby and walked to the front of her car and lifted the hood. A bunch of smoked came out and she backed away for a minute while it cleared then looked at what seemed to be a million different dirty metal parts all crowded together. After staring at this site for a couple minutes she slammed the hood back down and got into her car knowing there was nothing she could do to it. She sat there looking into the darkness. She began to get scared and she locked her doors and sank down into the seat. She was scared of what or who was out there, and what would happen to her.

This was a fear she had had many times before. See Amanda was a pregnant teen. She had met this guy and fallen head over heels for him. She didn't care what anyone said about him or the warnings they gave, to her he was perfect. She trusted and loved him w/ her whole heart until one night he slipped something into her drink and raped her. Last thing she remembered was leaving the restaurant feeling light headed and getting into his car. She found out she was pregnant about 2 months later and when she told her parents they didn't want anything to do with her and her now not so "perfect" boyfriend left her with nothing except for an unborn baby to take care of all by herself. At 19 her life had been turned upside down and with no one to turn to she left her home and went to Orlando Florida in search of a new start.

The only problem was she had nowhere to stay and no one wanted to hire a pregnant 19-year-old girl for a job. She had been driving around trying to find the highway and a rest stop where she would spend the night in her car. Instead she was stuck in a dark alley in the not so great part of town at 2am in the morning. She decided since she wasn't going anywhere for a while to get some sleep. Just as she closed her eyes she heard a car coming down the street. Her eyes opened to see bright lights coming from behind her. The car stopped right behind hers and someone got out and shut their door and began to walk over to her car door. 'Oh no' she thought as her heart froze. The person knocked on her window and she jumped. She turned to see a Puerto Rican guy around her age with black hair wearing a gray sweater and a sweet face. She slowly rolled down her window. "Are you having car trouble?" he asked.
"Yeah, it died on me and I don't know how to fix it and..."
"Let me give you a ride." He said cutting her off.

She froze once again. Could she really trust him? After her boyfriend raped her she lost all trust in people. But for some weird reason she felt like he was different and that she could trust him. She finally smiled and opened the door and he extended his hand toward her. She took it grabbing her bookbag with what few things she had in it and got out of her car and walked over to his. He opened the door for her and she climbed in and shut the door behind her. She couldn't believe how kind he was to her. Most people would have just passed her by when they saw she was a pregnant teen, but he treated her like a normal person. He got in and started the car.
"Where do you live Miss?" he asked.
"You can call me Amanda."
"Oh, nice to meet you. I'm Erik. So where to?"
"Umm……just take me to the closet hotel. That'll be fine."
He looked at her with a look of wonder in his eyes.
"You on vacation?"
"Not exactly." she replied not really knowing what to tell him.
"I just moved down here and I don't have a place to stay. I was driving around trying to find someplace to stay when my car broke down."
"Well. I can't just drop you off at a hotel and leave you there. You can come stay with me."

He looked over at her and she hesitated. Could she trust him? 'What if he's like my ex?' she thought to herself as she looked down at her enlarged stomach. She looked back up into his face of innocence.
"Ok" she agreed.

They pulled up to a large house and Amanda's jaw dropped. She couldn't believe how big it was.
"You live here by yourself?" she asked not believing that he was the only person living in this huge house.
"I share it with 4 friends. I'll introduce you to them." He answered as he got out of the car and opened her door for her. She stepped out grabbing her bag and followed Erik up the walk to the door. He opened the door and motioned for her to go in. She did and was even more amazed at the inside. In front of her was a simmering pool and around that were the doors that led into the house.
"Like it?" Erik asked.
"Yeah" she said smiling.
They walked around the pool and through the first door they came to, which led them down a small hallway and into a room with a table in front of them and 4 guys sitting around it, eating cereal and laughing to the point were they almost fell out of their chairs. Erik just stood there for a moment waiting for them to notice he had walked into the room. Finally a guy with blonde hair and the look of the whitest boy in America turned and looked at Erik.
"Hey man, wuz up? Who's your friend?" he asked scanning her up and down.
"Everyone this is Amanda and she's gonna be staying with us for a while. Amanda this is Jacob, Dan, Ashley, and Trevor. Be careful of Trevor…he's the flirt of the group." Erik said as the others laughed at the comment and Trevor just gave Amanda his million-dollar smile and winked. She couldn't help but smile.
"C'mon I'll show you where you'll be."
Amanda followed Erik up some steps and though a hallway past rooms that Amanda guessed were the rooms of the others with clothes lying everywhere. He walked into a room with dark blue walls and a rather large bed for one person in the middle.
"This is my room. You can stay here and I'll sleep downstairs."
"I don't wanna put you out." She protested.
"No trouble. The bathroom is across the hall. It's late so I'll let you get some sleep."
"Thanks for everything." She said smiling. He smiled and walked out closing the door behind him. Amanda fell down on the bed and within minutes was asleep. Erik walked back downstairs where he guys were cleaning up their mess of cereal bowls.
"Hey, I don't remember you having a friend named Amanda. And please tell me that's not your baby she's carrying around. I really don't want any surprises right now." Jacob said not looking up from the pile of bowls.
"You know I'm a virgin so shut up about it and I met her tonight. Her car brokedown and she has no where to stay so I offered for her to stay here. So be nice to her." Erik responded.
"Where's the father of the child?" Ashley asked.
"I dunno. I didn't really ask her much about her. I'm sure you'll get your chance to talk to her tomorrow, now I'm going to bed." He said as he walked over to the couch to make a bed for himself. The rest of the guys finished what they were doing and went to bed.
