Chapter 2

Amanda woke up the next morning to find herself in a strange room. She quickly remembered what had happened the night before and how Erik had let her stay here. She looked at the clock. 11:00 am on the dot. She could faintly hear noises downstairs and guessed they were all up so she decided to get up as well. She got up to grab some clothes but had to quickly sit back down getting a little light headed from standing up to fast. She got up again and headed to the bathroom. Just like the rest of the house the bathroom was large. It had a mirror stretched across the wall and a counter, plus hair gels and clothes lying all over. She laughed a little to herself and got in the shower. It felt so good to feel the hot water against her skin. She got out and got dressed in her favorite tank top and jeans then brushed her hair a little looking in the mirror to make sure it was perfect. 'It would look perfect if my stomach wasn't bulging out' she thought to herself. She looked at herself in the mirror now 8 months pregnant, wishing she could take it all back. Wishing that she hadn't gone out that night. Wishing that she had friends and a family to turn to. Wishing that she hadn't been so naïve. A knock at the door snapped her out of her daydream. The door slowly opened and Erik popped his head though.

"I heard a noise and I just wanted to check. You coming downstairs?" Erik asked not wanting to intrude.
"Yeah. I'm ready."
"Then let me escort you." He said extending his arm. Amanda smiled and took it willingly and the 2 of them walked downstairs where the other 4 were again eating cereal.
"Hey Amanda! Glad to see I didn't scare you away." Trevor said pouring another bowl of cereal.
She walked over and grabbed a handful of cereal out of his bowl and sat down next to Jacob.
"Hey! Can she do that?"
"She just did." Dan said laughing.
"So Amanda…Tell us about you." Ashley said.
"Well, I'm 19 and a Taurus, I'm from Ohio, I love music and as you can see I'm 8 months pregnant."
"Girl or boy." Jacob asked with a mouthful of cereal.
"I dunno yet. Just have to wait and see."
"Where's the father?" Ashley asked. Amanda looked down wishing that hadn't come up.
"I'm sorry. You don't have to answer that." He said in apology.
"No…he was a jerk. I left him." She answered quietly still looking down. She knew it wasn't the true answer but she didn't know what to say. The guys noticed her looking down and became quiet not wanting to say something to hurt her feelings. All of the sudden Dan's cell phone rang.
"Hello." He said listening to the voice on the other end. His eyes got big.
"OK. We'll be right there." He said throwing the phone down and getting up as quickly as he could.
"What was that about?" Erik asked.
"I forgot we were suppose to be at the studio an hour ago." He said quickly putting his bowl in the sink and running out the door. All the guys followed.
"Amanda do you wanna come to the studio with us to hear us sing and get yelled at for being late?" Erik asked knowing what would happen when they got there.
"Sure, I'd love to hear you sing." She got up and followed the guys out to their black SUV.
Everyone piled in and took off. Trevor was driving, Jacob was in the passenger seat, Dan and Ashley were in the middle and Erik was with Amanda in the back.
"So what do we tell them?" Trevor asked.

"Nothing. We've done this before and they don't wanna listen to our excuses." Ashley said.
"Are you guys always late?" Amanda asked wondering how many times they had done this before.

"Nah. Just once in a while but they really got at us for it." Erik answered looking at her. 'Wow, she's really hot looking. No Erik shut up she's pregnant and probably not looking for anyone.' Erik thought to himself. They pulled up to a large 1-story building and hardly let the car stop before they jumped out. Erik waited for Amanda to get out then followed the guys inside. They rushed into a room that looked like a mini stage set up for a concert. The guys threw their stuff to the floor and raced to the stage grabbing their mics and waiting for further instruction. Erik pointed to a couch off to the side where Amanda could sit and watch. She walked over and sat down. She watched the guys start their own warm-ups acting like they had been there the whole time, but were interrupted by their vocal coach Doc Holliday and that started the 30 minute long lecture about being on time and remembering Miss. America and how we don't want that again and realizing they're the ones that have to make this work. Finally they got in their places and the band began to play the familiar music of "Liquid Dreams". They sang and danced all in front of a mirror acting like it was their audience. They did the whole show only stopping between each song to correct mistakes and redo certain parts. Amanda was amazed at their harmonies and their energy to do all this. After they were done going through each song they got a small break to eat. Erik came over and fell on the couch next to Amanda.
"So how'd we do?" he asked wiping the sweat from his face.
"Very good. Except for the part you forgot to sing your harmony." She said smiling.
"Who wants Pizza!" Trevor yelled making sure everyone heard him. Erik grabbed a couple slices and handed 1 to Amanda. He was about to sit back down next to her when Ashley came over and squeezed between.
"You always sit next to her let someone else in." he said. Erik stood there for a second waiting for him to move but when he didn't Erik just sat down next to him.
"So, you having fun here?" Ashley asked.
"Of course I am! I'm sitting here with the hottest guy I know." She said.
"Hey what about me?!" Erik said giving Amanda his baby face.
"Ok the 2 hottest guys I know. Is that better?"
"Yes. Thank you." He said going back to what he was doing.
Ashley continued talking to Amanda until Trevor came over.
"Ok Ashley you've flirted with her long enough, now let someone else have a turn." Trevor said pushing Ashley over so he could sit next to her. He talked with her until their break was over and had to return to their practice. Trevor got up and kissed Amanda on the cheek. Erik noticed and just rolled his eyes. Trevor was the biggest flirt he ever knew.

They did 50 push-ups and about a million crunches then did their show. This time there was no stopping and the bright lights were focused on them just like a real concert. When they were done they had a long talk with their vocal coach about what needs work and what to fix. After 2 hours of talking and fixing they did the show over. Amanda was getting bored of watching the same thing again, but did with a smile on her face. They began to sing "Baby I Would" which was 1 of Amanda's favorite songs. Their harmonies were perfect on the chorus and then Erik took the mic of the stand like he was suppose to but instead of walking towards the mirror/audience he walked over to Amanda, took her hand and began to sing.

Would I be the harbor always there for you
Right there for you baby
Would I be the shelter that would shield you, yeah

Amanda blushed a little and Erik smiled at her and walked back slowly to his position. Amanda kept smiling at him even though he wasn't looking at her. She had never known someone so sweet and kind as Erik had been to her. They did the rest of their show then called it a day. They walked out to the SUV and got in, tired from the day's rehearsal. It was already 10pm and Amanda was exhausted. She yawned and Erik noticed.
"You tired?" he asked.
"Yeah, just a little."

"Here lay your head down." He said putting his around her. She laid her head on his shoulder and felt safe in his arms something she hadn't felt in a long time. They pulled into the driveway and everyone got out and went inside. Amanda was kinda sad she had to leave Erik's arms and that safe feeling, but she did. Everyone decided to call it a day and go to bed. Amanda walked upstairs and to Erik's room. She noticed Erik downstairs making his bed on the couch and smiled. She walked into his room and shut the door. She changed into sweat pants and a t-shirt and laid down. For a while she could hear the guys moving around and then it got quiet. Amanda thought about how nice Erik had been and how he sang to her and how she felt safe in is arms like nothing could harm her. Not to mention he was cute. She thought about him for a while but then stopped. He was no more than a friend. She sighed and fell asleep.

Chapter 3

During the next 2 weeks everything was just about the same. The guys went to rehearsal everyday and sometimes Amanda went with them and sometimes she stayed at their house. Erik and Amanda had gotten closer but only as friends. They flirted sometimes but nothing more than that. Amanda felt really close to him and wondered what he thought about her. Erik had a thing for Amanda but was scared to tell her that maybe she wouldn't feel the same way or that she wouldn't want a boyfriend because she was pregnant. Even though they both had the same feelings about each other they never bothered to say anything to the other.

"Hey Amanda, wanna watch a movie with us?" Dan asked.
"Nah that's ok. Maybe another time." She said
"Are u sure? We promise not to scare you away." Trevor said coming up behind Dan.
"Yeah. I have some things to do, but I promise next time I'll watch the movie with ya."
The guys walked downstairs and grabbed some bowls of popcorn and put the movie in. Amanda decided to go sit outside since it was a nice night. She went out the back door so not as to bother the guys and sat on the back swing.
After about half an hour into the movie Erik noticed Amanda wasn't around. He got up and went upstairs to look for her and noticed she was outside. He went back downstairs, opened the door and walked over to the swing where she was sitting.
"Can I join you?" he asked.
"I thought you were watching the movie."
"It's a stupid movie and I'd rather be out here." He responded. She smiled and moved over so he could sit down.
"The stars are really pretty tonight." He said.
"Yeah, I used to sit outside and look at the stars when I was little." She said wishing she could go back and be that little kid with no problems in the world. It must have shown on her face cuz Erik noticed.
"What's a matter?" he asked. She looked at him with his eyes that gave him a look of complete innocence. She knew she had to tell him the real story behind her being pregnant and why she was down here.
"I haven't been 100 percent honest with you. I didn't leave my boyfriend and I kinda ran away to Orlando. See I fell in love with this guy and really trusted him but he ended up raping me and that's how I got pregnant. When he found out he left me and my family didn't want anything to do with me so I left and here I am." Erik looked at her stunned.
"Wow, I had no idea."
"I was scared at first to tell you so that's why I didn't say anything about it before."
"I'm so sorry." He said wrapping his arm around her trying to comfort her. She looked up at him and their eyes met. Amanda knew this was right. She closed her eyes and moved towards him.
Erik did the same and their lips locked. They kissed passionately and then Erik's tongue popped into her mouth. Their tongues met and played in circles for a while then ended with another kiss. Amanda moved back some and they just sat there in silence for a moment not knowing what to say.

"We had better go back in or the guys will be wondering." Erik said getting up. They walked back inside where the guys were done with their movie and getting ready to go to sleep. Erik walked Amanda upstairs and to her room.

"Well this is my stop." She said. "Ok. Goodnight." He said not knowing really what to say. Amanda smiled and said goodnight and walked into her room closing the door behind her.
