Chapter 4
Amanda woke up the next morning, took a shower and got dressed then went downstairs. She saw the normal sight of the guys at the table eating cereal, but this time there was a girl sitting next to Jacob. She walked over and sat down across from Erik. Neither of them had said anything to each other about how they felt after the kiss last night and Amanda wasn't exactly sure what to say.
"Hey Amanda this is Janie my girlfriend. She's visiting for a while and she's gonna be staying here with you while we're gone." Jacob said.
"Where ya going?" She asked.
"We're going to Miami to do a small concert tonight but we'll be back tomorrow.
And we should be leaving in a few minutes too." Dan said getting up and putting his bowl in the sink. The guys followed, grabbing their bags and heading towards the door. Amanda got up and followed and so did Janie.
"Bye girls. Be good while we're away!" Trevor said giving each girl a hug and running out the door. Ashley, Jacob and Dan did the same then Erik came up to Amanda. He hugged her for a few minutes and Amanda could tell he didn't want to let go, but he did.
"We'll be back tomorrow and I'll…" he was cut off by the honking of the horn.
"C'mon Erik! We'll miss our plane!" Ashley yelled from the car. Erik kissed Amanda on the forehead then ran out the door. The guys were gone and it just Amanda and Janie. It was quiet for a minute then Janie spoke up.
"So, what do you say we go to the mall?" she asked.
"I'd have to say yes. Just let me go grab my purse." Amanda ran up stairs and grabbed her purse. It had been so long since she had been shopping. They got in Jacob's car and took off for the mall. On the way they shared stories about their lives and Jacob and Erik. Amanda told Janie what happened last night with Erik and what she had been wanting to say to Erik, but just couldn't. Finally they pulled into the mall and went inside.
"So have you gotten anything for the baby yet?" Janie asked as they looked through a rack of clothes.
"Actually I haven't gotten anything for the baby yet."
"Then we're just gonna have to go get some stuff for the baby right now." Janie said heading towards the baby department.
"But I don't have any money." Amanda said.
"Don't worry about it. The baby is due in 6 weeks and you're gonna need clothes and stuff for it." Amanda smiled and gave in. They shopped for hours and finally left the mall with bags in every hand and went back to the guy's house. When they got there they put the stuff in Erik's room and went into the kitchen.
"Are you hungry? It's already 4pm and I haven't eaten anything yet." Janie asked.
"Yeah kind of."
"Then I'll fix us something and you go in the living and rest."
Amanda walked into the living room and sat down on the couch. She decided to watch some tv and got up to get the remote. Just as she did she felt her water break. She stood there for a minute then sat back down. She felt a sharp pain move from her stomach to her back. 'This can't be happening! I still have another 6 weeks left.' she thought to herself. She got up and walked into the kitchen where Janie was.
"I just made some sandwiches and chips." Janie said turning to Amanda and seeing a worried look on her face.
"What's a matter?" She asked.
"We have to go to the hospital. I think it's time." Amanda said as calmly as she could. Janie dropped what she was doing and grabbed the car keys. She helped Amanda into the car and took off for the hospital.
"Janie can you do something for me?" Amanda asked.
"Sure what do you want?"
"Can you call Erik for me and tell him?" she asked.
"Sure. I'll do it right now." She said grabbing her cell phone and dialing Jacob's cell number.
"Hello?" Jacob said answering his cell phone.
"Hey give the phone to Erik." Janie said.
"You sound like you're in a car or something. What's going on?" Jacob asked. "Just give the phone to Erik!" she said getting annoyed.
"Ok. Jeez, don't get mad. Erik, Janie's on the phone and she wants you." Jacob said.
"Hey wuz up?" Erik asked.
"It's Amanda."
"Oh no. What's a matter?" He asked as all the guys turned to Erik.
"She's in labor. We're on our way to the hospital right now." Janie said.
"Ok. I'll be there as soon as I can." Erik said hanging up the phone. "Erik what's the matter?" Dan asked.
"Amanda's in labor and she's gonna have the baby." Erik said getting his stuff together.
"But I thought she wasn't due for awhile." Trevor said confused.
"She's early and I got to get there as soon as possible." Erik said. The guys got their stuff and headed to the airport to catch the next possible flight back to Orlando.
Janie pulled up in front of the emergency section of the hospital. She got out and walked Amanda slowly inside. She was then put in a wheelchair and taken to the delivery room.
Chapter 5
2 hours had passed since Amanda and Janie had arrived at the hospital. Janie had been waiting in the waiting room the whole time and finally a nurse came out.
"Are you here with Amanda?" the lady asked.
"Yeah. How's she doing?" Janie answered standing up.
"She is early, but seems to be doing ok. You can come back and see her if you want."
"Sure." Janie said and she followed the nurse down several hallways and to Amanda's room.
"Hey girl, how are you doing?" Janie said walking into Amanda's room.
"Ok, but I've had better days." Amanda said.
"You're going to be ok. Soon it will all be over and you'll have a beautiful little baby." Amanda smiled.
"Yeah, I just wish Erik were here."
"Don't worry, he's on his way as we speak."

Meanwhile at the airport Erik and the other guys were waiting for their flight back to Orlando to arrive.
"Hey man are you ok?" Dan asked walking over towards Erik.
"Yeah, I just hope Amanda's ok."
"I'm sure she's fine." Dan said sitting down next to Erik.
"Yeah, but it's just that…" Erik said not finishing his sentence. "You like her don't you." Dan said. Erik looked up.
"Yeah. How'd you know?"
"Just a guess."
"I wanna tell her how I feel, but what if she doesn't feel the same way about me?"
"You never know till you tell her. And don't worry about her. She's at the hospital with Janie. If you want you could call Janie and check on her." Dan said.
"Good idea." Erik said taking out his cell phone. He dialed her number and it began to ring.
"Hello?" Janie said.
"Hey, it's Erik. How's Amanda doing?"
"She's fine. Do you want to talk to her she's right here?" "Sure."
"Hello?" Amanda asked as Janie handed her the phone.
"Hey there! How's my favorite girl in the whole world?" Erik asked trying to sound cheerful.
"I'm doing ok. Where are you guys?"
"At the airport, but we'll be there soon." "I'm so sorry you have to cancel the concert." Amanda said.
"Hey don't worry about it. You're more important." Amanda smiled.
"Hey guys our plane's here. Let's go." Jacob yelled. Amanda could hear him on her end of the phone.
"You better go. I'll talk to you when you get here." She said.
"Ok. Bye!" Erik said closing his phone and following the other guys to the walkway.

Another couple hours passed and Erik and the guys still weren't there. Finally the doctor came in to check on Amanda.
"Hi, I'm Dr. Smith. Everything seems to be ok so we're going to go ahead and deliver this baby."
"Wait…I have some friends coming and I really want to wait till they're here." Amanda said.
"Ok, I'll give them 10 minutes but that's it." He said walking out of the room. "Janie what if they don't get here on time or what if they can't find it or" Amanda said panicking, but she was cut off by the opening of the door.
"I'm here." said a familiar voice. Amanda turned and looked towards the door. It was Erik.
"I was thinking you weren't gonna get here in time." She said as Erik walked over and gave her a hug.
"Well I'm here now."
"Where're the other guys?" Amanda asked.
"They're in the lobby."
"I'm going to see Jacob then. I'll see you later Amanda. Good luck." Janie said walking out the door.
"Thanks." Amanda said.
"Erik I'm so glad you're here." Amanda said smiling up at Erik.
"Me too. Amanda, there's something I have to tell you." Erik said.
"What is it?" she asked.
"Well I see your friend has come so let's deliver this baby now." The doctor said interrupting Amanda and Erik.
"Umm…Erik can this wait till later?"
"No, I have to tell you now… I…I love you." He said taking her hand and holding it in his.
"You what?" she asked. "I love you. I wanted to say something to you before but I…" Amanda stopped him.
"I love you too." She said smiling. Erik just smiled back. "Ok, are you ready?" The doctor asked.
"I don't know if I can do this." She said, scared.
"Don't worry. I'm here and I know you can do this." Erik said lightly brushing away the hair from her face. Amanda could only smile. At that moment Amanda had everything she had ever dreamed of. Her life had been turned upside down, but Erik had stepped in and turned it all around. Now everything in her life was perfect and no one could take it away from her.
"Ok, on the count of 3 I want you to push." The doctor said to Amanda.
"1…2…3" Amanda pushed as hard as she could. Finally she stopped and caught her breath. She looked up at Erik who was still holding her hand tight. He looked at her and smiled. She knew this was so right, the 2 of them together. "OK, 1 more push and we should have a baby. 1, 2, 3" Again Amanda pushed even harder, but stopped when she heard the cry of a little baby.
"Congratulations. You have a little baby girl." The doctor said holding her up so Amanda and Erik could see.
"She's so cute." Amanda said smiling.
"Just like you." Erik said kissing Amanda on the lips. The doctor cleaned her off and wrapped her in a blanket and handed her to Amanda.
"What's the baby's name?" the doctor asked.
"Oh, I totally forgot to think of a name." She said trying to think of a good name.
"I kinda like the name Kayla." She said after a while.
"That's pretty. What about Kayla Mackenzie?" Erik asked.
"I like it. Kayla Mackenzie it is." She said smiling down at her new baby. "Hey can we come in?" Ashley asked standing at the door with Janie and the other guys behind him.
"Sure." Amanda said. They all came in and crowded around to see the new baby. "We'd like you to meet Kayla Mackenzie." Erik said.
"Estrada." Amanda said. Erik looked at Amanda.
"Erik, I want you to be my baby's father." Amanda said. Erik smiled.
"I love you." Erik said.
"I love you too."
