Chapter Three

The next morning Melissa woke up to find Ashley and Jacob talking and Ash looked upset she got up from her bed went behind him and rubbed his back and said what’s wrong? With a questioned look on her face. Oh nothing Ashley said she went ok and mumbled under her breath fine if you don’t want to tell me then don’t! Then she walked out of the room with a frustrated look on her face and Erik happened to notice that and asked her what was wrong she said Ash and Jacob are hiding something from me he went oh well now I know what’s wrong is there anything I can do to cheer you up Erik said she went no you already have trust me. Erik just got some Mt. Dew out of the fridge and left the room. Melissa looked at the clock and noticed it was twelve and in the beginning of her summer vacation so she grabbed a can of dr. pepper out of the fridge went into the living room sat on the couch flipped on the television and drifted into thought about what life would be like now that she was living with her bro and his friends. Of course the cameramen got in her face as soon as they noticed she was awake she just went hi what’s up? Ash walked out and saw the cameramen pestering his sister, which isn’t a good thing to do when she has just woken up so he snuck up behind them and whispered you guys don’t mess with her she just woke up ok? “Ok” they all went. Ashley looked at his sister and noticed she was thinking but he still asked so what are you thinking about Missy? Nothing much Ash why? Cause I was just wondering you looked like you were fed up with me when you left the room no I’m not fed up Ash she said why would I be fed up? Well because I wouldn’t tell you what was wrong in the bedroom I understand Melissa said and went to get up and leave when Ash grabbed her arm and said I can’t tell you because I promised Jacob he said with an I’m sorry please don’t be mad at me look, she went I not mad Ash I just n/m. Jacob walked into the room and something strange was going on between him and Ash I went ok when you both are ready to tell me what’s going on I will come out of my room playing on my lap top until then don’t even bother talking to me Melissa said with a frustrated look on her face and left the room. Jacob went man now she’s mad at Ash and I he mumbled underneath his breath. Ashley looked at him with a look we have got to tell her. Jacob glared back and went, which meant no please don’t Ash glared back and went yes Jacob said ok fine so they walked into Jacob’s and Melissa’s bedroom and saw her lying in her bed and talking to a friend on the internet on her lap top. Jacob went ok were ready to tell you well that was short she said in reply. I know Ashley said come here Jacob went ok Melissa said. She came down from her bed and sat down next to Ash across from Jacob. Jacob stared at her and became nervous ash went well come on Jacob tell her what you told me umm Melissa you see I like you not just like you but I want you to go out with me. What she went? What do you mean Jacob your four years older than me? Jacob went I know but when I first saw you I knew that I had to have you Melissa cut in ok, wait your scaring me say that again I said that when I first laid my eyes on you I knew I had to have you. Melissa ran out of the room and Jacob screamed wait! Ash now you know why I didn’t want to tell her Jacob screamed. Ash felt horrible and he just ran down to the beach and sat there for a while Melissa had found her way down to the beach and spotted the pier and ran down and swam out and climbed up onto it. Jacob hopped onto his bed and hid his face in his pillow and cried.

Chapter Four

Melissa got back from the pier around 11:00 pm that night and Ash had been worried sick. ”Melissa where have you been? Asked a really tired and worried looking Ash. I’ve been down at the pier I spotted it and this little ledge about half way out to the end where you can climb up unto the pier like we used to when we went to grandma’s cottage in the summer he went “oh I never noticed that. ” yeah well now you know about it at least. Now if you don’t mind I’d like to go to sleep “go on” said Ash go get your beauty rest while you still can he thought to himself. Meanwhile Melissa walked into the room that she would be staying in grabbed some clothes went into the bathroom took a shower dried off put on her pajama’s and walked out of the door right into Jacob which was a big mistake because she fell on top of him and Ashley walked in and saw them on top of each other Melissa Ash went what are you doing nothing he was sitting on the floor in, which I did not see before and tripped then fell right on top of him. Oh Ashley went and helped Melissa up and Jacob to. Then he noticed there were tears in Jacob’s eyes. Jacob, excuse me but can I get into the bathroom now Jacob said Ash went sure why not and moved right out of his way. Melissa, Ashley said sweetly why’d you run off like that earlier today? Ash, don’t tell Jacob this but I do like him it’s just the way that he came on it scared me I know Ash said. It scared me to you know because you’re my best bud my younger sis and my best friend who is twenty-one hitting on her man it would be like a bad dream or something I guess he smiled hey ash I’ve still got one bag left to get out of the car you mind going to get he went but you only had three and Jacob already carried those in Ash as if you didn’t notice I was joking he went “oh.” Jacob walked out of the bathroom with new tears forming in his eyes he couldn’t stand it all of a sudden words came out of his mouth but they weren’t clear so he had to say them over “Melissa why do you hate me?” What Jacob I don’t hate you it’s just that you came onto me to strong and I don't know I guess it kind of scared me ya know. I’m sorry Jacob said. “It’s ok really.” Melissa said in reply. Jacob got up and sat next to her Melissa if I take things slower would you maybe think of going out with me he asked nervously she went sure I’ll go out with you but ya gotta take things slower you know what I’m saying yeah I do he went with a smile on his face and slowly started to kiss Melissa on the lips Ashley looked at Jacob like don’t not yet anyway so Jacob just pulled away and held her close to him. Then Erik walked in the room and saw Ash’s face at what Jacob was doing Ash left the room and took Erik with him. Erik’s like what’s up with Jake this is so unlike him Ash, Erik said. Ashley, Erik went what is Jacob doing holding your sister ash just sat down and went he likes her he told her that earlier and she took off when she came back when her and I were talking he came out and said “Melissa why do you hate me?” Erik said damn so that’s why he was crying earlier Ash went yeah that’s why. Jacob asked Melissa why she had run off like that earlier u just scared me and I had to get away from it Melissa said in reply. Ash told Erik that he was totally not ok with Jacob going out with his sister at all. Ash had told Jacob that earlier that day. Jacob had started to kiss Melissa but she pulled away and said no, no what? Jacob asked. Don’t kiss me right now Melissa said he went then what do you want me to do Jacob said? Just leave me alone you don’t understand she said and then ran out to the back and sat on the porch. Ash had saw that and ran out after her he asked sis what’s wrong? He kissed me Ash and I…I, I know Ash said and held her. Jacob was in his room he went great, I totally screwed this up royally she’s going to hate me for the rest of her life I totally let what Ash said slip right through one ear and out through the other. Melissa just leaned against her brothers shoulder and started to cry it’s ok ash said I know what it’s like Ash said. Jacob walked out of his room and into the backyard and just sat there thinking I am so stupid I let her slip away and it’s all, my fault then he heard Ash and Melissa talking. Melissa told ash it’s just that when I was with Josh your other friend things started out like that and I really liked him and then he hurt me and I haven’t dated any one since then Melissa said softly.

Jacob heard this and felt so bad.

Chapter Five

When Melissa was done talking to Ash she went into the bedroom cause she wanted to talk to Jacob but he wasn’t there so she just crawled up onto the top bunk and fell asleep. When Jacob walked in around one-thirty that morning to find Melissa asleep in her bed, well at least until she woke up when she heard the door shut she went “Jacob is that you?” He went “yeah why?” because I came in here to talk to you earlier and you weren’t here so I just went to sleep he went oh ok well I’m here now you cant talk so she jumped down from the top bunk and sat on one of the other two beds that were in the room and said Jacob come here he went ok and sat down next to her and said so what’s up Melissa went Jacob I’m sorry for running out on you again he went ok and I need to tell you something before I was going out with another one of my brother’s friends his name is Josh and he hurt me and I haven’t dated anyone since then he went I’m sorry ash told me not to kiss you before he left and I just let it slip right over my head and I shouldn’t have but I did. Melissa went it’s ok then she moved in closer to Jacob and kissed him lightly and pulled away well Jacob I’m tired so I’m gonna goto sleep he went ok and pushed her down onto his bed you sleep here he said in a groggy tone she went ok but then where are you gonna sleep? She asked. Right here with you, Melissa said ok but don’t try anything funny and then drifted off to sleep in his arms. Ash walked in the next morning and saw them asleep in the same bed and went great so he’s already slept with her in a very loud tone and Melissa went no he didn’t get in my pants Ash we just slept in the same bed is that ok with you she went he went sure I guess then Jacob woke up and gave Missy a kiss on the lips and got up to go to the bathroom and took a quick shower Melissa was already nice and clean so she got dressed did her hair and went into the kitchen grabbed a bowl of cereal and sat at the table Erik walked out of his room in his boxers with baggy Nike shorts pulled up half way over his ass with a belt around them and said good morning. Melissa looked at him and laughed he went what she said Erik take a look at your shorts she said and then you might want to pull them up he went why you don’t think my butt is cute he said jokingly she went no I do think your but is cute but I don’t want to see it then Jacob walked up behind her with a smirk on his face and covered her eyes and said guess who well smells fresh um let’s see Jacob he went damn then she turned around and kissed him and said hi hun. Trevor and Dan looked at them like what? Guys Jacob said Missy And I are going out they went you are yep said missy and a mad looking ash said in a frustrated tone yeah there going out Melissa grabbed Ash and went into a different room and said what’s wrong? Only the problem that my best friend is going out with my younger sister and slept in the same bed as her last night Ash I thought you said ya didn’t mind well I do ok so just don’t get in my face and tell Jacob to do the same Ash you know I can’t stand it when your mad at me your my best friend “SO!” Ash said and then stormed out of the room. Melissa ran out of the house and down to the beach and just sat there and cried Jacob came running out after her to see what was wrong but she just got up and ran once she saw who, it was. Jacob screamed, “Wait!” But she didn’t stop she just kept on running. Ash saw Jacob walk into the house exhausted from running and asked so Jacob where’s Missy? I don’t know he stuttered. What do you mean you don’t know! She took off on me and I couldn’t catch up to her to stop her whatever it is she’s bothered by sure is big because she was running towards the pier again Jacob said. Then all of a sudden Missy walked in and couldn’t talk cause she was out of breathe but Jacob noticed she was bleeding he ran over to her and saw a gun wound on her arm Ash, Jacob screamed right before he passed out. Ash ran over and saw what Jacob saw and said Missy are you ok? Yeah she said it doesn’t hurt anymore but I may have to get some stitches Ash just looked at her like you’ve got to be nuts Missy said Ash he went what? Stitches require going to the hospital oh he went and got the keys and said c’mon let’s go she went ok let’s go. While driving in the car going to the hospital Ash went you think that you would’ve thought that you would be crying well I did the first time I got shot in school last month and the day when I got high jacked and a knife jabbed right into my side she exclaimed. Ash looked at her like what? Ash when you left mom and dad really never paid any attention to me at all well mom did but dad hasn’t talked to me since and he would hit me for no reason I’ve never told anyone this not even mom so please keep this just between you and I ok? She looked at him and pleaded, “yeah I guess” he said now sorry for what he had said earlier and regretted it big time. At the hospital the doctor said that Missy would have to get fifteen stitches. On the way home they were very quiet. When Missy walked in to the house Jacob got up and walked over to her to see if she was ok and she just walked strait passed him into her room and got on her computer to see if her friend was on so she could talk to her. When she saw that her ex was on and he imed her and said hey I dropped over the other day and your mother said you weren’t living with them anymore, Melissa got off and went out onto the porch and sat on the swing and read her book when Jacob walked out and sat next to her on the swing and just stared at her she looked back at him and said Ash has a problem with us going out and that’s why I have been avoiding you. What but he said that he didn’t have a problem with it “I know” but now apparently he does so maybe we shouldn’t go out anymore Jacob went what? Just because of Ashley god, he just ran out of the room. Melissa went running out after him gave a glare at Ash which was an I am mad at you big time and he got up and ran after her. Suddenly Melissa tripped over a humongous stone Jacob turned around and looked to see if she was ok but she was unconscious and he screamed Ash because he saw him Ash came running up and went what happened Jacob? I don’t know Jacob said in reply. Then all of a sudden Missy woke up and started to run again but this time she went back to the house and saw Erik sitting they’re doing nothing, Dan talking on the phone, and Trevor asleep on the couch. Just as she sat down Jacob ran in with Ash at his side and they both ran over to her and said exactly at the same time “Are you alright?” she went yeah then got up and walked out onto the back porch once again Jacob and Ash followed her. Melissa Ash screamed would you just listen to me please! She went ok fine in a snotty tone. Ashley started to say I know you know that I am not ok with you going out with Jacob but if you really love him I can learn to except it so don’t dump him just because of me ok. Whatever she just got up and walked away, Jacob went in after her but just before he got into the house Ash grabbed his arm and went don’t mess with her she’s not in a good mood.
