Chapter Nine

About a month later at MTV studios on TRL Jacob asked missy to marry him she was so shocked and she didn’t know what to say. Umm Jake I…I dunno (Melissa ran out of the studio and into the parking lot and started to sob uncontrollably.) Hey guys I’m sorry Jake said but I have to go after her I hope you understand. Melissa wait Jake screamed as missy ran away from him with tears in her eyes. It was missy’s birthday today which made it able for them to get married in some states she is turning seventeen.

Missy just kept running she ran all the way back to the hotel and into her room then locked the door. About 15 min. later Jacob stumbled into his hotel room fell to the ground in tears and started to sob uncontrollably. Ash ran in after Jake and saw him lying on the floor sobbing and said hey Jake don’t cry it’s going to be ok you probably just startled her. You think so Jacob said sniffiling. Yeah I do and you know what I’m going to go talk to her you think you’ll be ok alone? Yeah I suppose so Jake said as a tear slowly ran down his cheek. Missy it’s me ash said as he knocked on the door. Go away I don’t want to talk to anyone right now just go away please. Missy c’mon just let me in we need to talk about this, No just go away Melissa said and turned on the T.V. so she couldn’t here him. Ash screamed Melissa don’t be like this c’mon I hate when you can’t tell me things and when your hurt and you won’t talk to me please let me in so we can talk. Melissa walked over to the door and on bolted it but kept the chain on and opened it as far as it came and said ash just give me time I’ll talk to you later just let me be. Ok but you have to promise you’ll talk to me later, I promise. So ash left and went back to Jake and his room and said man she wouldn’t talk to me at all. Damn Jake said I don’t think she loves me as much as I love her Jake said as he looked at ash. She does trust me Jake she does now we both need to get some sleep for tomorrow ok? Yeah I need it anyway. Ash turned off the light and Jake quickly fell asleep, it took ash about a half our to fall asleep cause he had things running through his mind. Around two hours later Melissa walked in with her key to get ash so they could talk and found Jacob awake looking through pictures of them together at Darien Lake and Sea Breeze. She walked over to ash and woke him up and said I’m ready to talk now with out even saying a word to Jake nor looking at him. Ok ash said and got up and they went over to missy’s room. So why did you take off when Jake asked you if you would marry him? I’m not ready for that type of commitment yet and we have only been dating for a month and a half now and I don’t think that is long enough for him to be popping that question and I didn’t want to hurt him by saying no on TRL you get what I’m saying ash? Yeah I was thinking the same exact thing missy.

I’m glad more than one of us was thinking that missy said in relief. So how’s Jake doing? Not so good he ran after you the whole way here and then he heard you lock your door so he ran down the hall back to our room as soon as he got in the door he fell to the ground and started to sob uncontrollably. Ash just held her the rest of the night.

In the morning missy and ash went down to the hotels dining area to eat breakfast with the rest of the guys. Missy sat next to ash and Jake though missy hadn’t said a word to him all through out breakfast they sat next to each other. Jake couldn’t stand it any longer missy, what’s the answer? He said in a pleading tone with his voice cracking like he was about to cry. Through out her and the guys there was a very long silence she looked at ash then at Jake and said excuse me ash but I got to go to the bathroom so he let her out and she went into the bathroom. The guys were looking at Jake as he broke down into tears. Ash why won’t she answer me she hasn’t talked to me since before we went to the studios yesterday and I can’t stand it I feel like someone just ripped a part of me out and stomped on it then cut it up and spit on it I feel as if I’m going to die if she doesn’t talk to me soon. Melissa came back and said ash I don’t feel so good I’m gonna go up to my room and get some rest for later today. Ash went ok I guess I’ll see you later than, Yeah later. With that missy went up to her room. Jake said guys I’m gonna go up to my room also I don’t want anybody else to see me like this. Ok the guys said and Jake left. Melissa was sitting on her bed looking at pictures of her and Jake and began to cry. Jake was in his room doing the same. Missy finally worked up the nerve to go over and knock on jakes door. Jake got up and answered it and saw that it was missy and began to cry and let her in. Jake? Yeah, I’m sorry but I can’t marry you . Why Jake said as tears started to flow down his cheek I’m not ready for that kind of commitment yet and we haven’t been going out long enough for that question to even have been brought up. In other words you don’t want to marry me and you never loved me, Jake said looking down at the floor. No Jake I never said that. No but that’s what you meant. No Jake I didn’t mean it like that. Whatever Jake said and looked away. Melissa got up and stormed off to find ash with tears streaming down her face she ran right into ash and they both fell to the floor ash said missy what’s wrong? As soon as he saw missy crying so hard she couldn’t breathe. I talked to Jake and told him what I told you and he totally took it the wrong way we wait there is no longer a we he and I broke up. What!! Ash screamed. Oh god ash said I…I had no idea that it would come to this. I want to go back to Redding ash. No missy please don’t go back I need you here I’ll miss you so much. Ash what’s the use of staying here I won’t be able to walk past Jake with out braking down into tears. I know but c’mon I know you don’t wanna go back there that bad your right ash ok I’ll stay here.

They were back at the house the next day missy and Erik changed rooms so missy wouldn’t have to be in the same room as Jake. Jake was getting worse everyday he stopped eating he wouldn’t talk to anyone and wasn’t showing up at rehearsals.

Missy stopped eating ash and Erik were the only people missy would talk to she was getting really skinny and everyone was worried about her and Jake both. Ash missy was screaming at the top of her lungs but was still really hard to hear she was so weak and so fragile it’s like if you were to touch her she would break. Ash came running in what? Can you get me some water please? Yes of course I can. Oh and ash, yeah? Can you get me a piece of bread he looked at her in awe bread you want anything on it no thanks just bread and water thanks neways. Ash walked into the kitchen grabbed some Italian bread and a glass of water then Erik asked ash you going on a diet no actually missy asked for it. Missy, Erik said in awe yeah ash answered back I did the same thing when she asked for it. Well I gotta get back to her so I’ll talk later. Ash walked into missy’s room and said here you go she said thanks and took a sip of water then ate the bread. Ash sat down next to her and saw a picture of missy and Jake kissing at Darien Lake lying on her bed. So missy how’d you sleep last night actually I slept like a rock last night I’m actually feeling better a bit today she got up slipped on her pants and went into the bath room put on her baby blue rigid tube top and a white button up short sleeve over it then put on a pair of leather Capri’s did her hair and make up walked out and Erik whistled thanks Erik missy said and looked at ash how’s it look ash? It looks great sis ok thanks. She said walked out into the kitchen it had been about three weeks since she’s actually eaten something so she grabbed a bowl and poured trix into it then got out the milk poured it in and ate it. Ash walked in and was surprised she was eating a bowl of cereal. Ash ,yeah, how’s Jake? I dunno he stopped eating he won’t come out of his room or talk to anyone. I’m gonna go check on him missy said as she finished her cereal and put hey bowl and spoon in the dish washer. Melissa walked down the hall and opened Jake’s door walked in kissed him on the fore head slightly then pulled away as he woke up he saw her there and thought he was hallucinating no Jake I’m really here he sat up looked at her and wrapped his arms around her and said I’m so sorry please forgive me damn missy you have lost a lot of weight look at yourself you look like a dead deer lying on the side of the road now get your ass up get in the shower I’ll wait out here and pick you out some clothes that you have a matching belt to k? Yeah, he said as he got up and walked into the bathroom and turned on the shower then slowly pulled off his shorts and boxers then got in. when he got out he wrapped a towel around his waist and came out missy had picked up his room and was sitting on his bed with the clothes she picked out for him he put them on first to see if he needed the belt or not in which he did so he put it on then put on the white wife beater and a navy blue button up short sleeved shirt on over it with Jnco jean shorts on. Hey look we match he said oh yeah we do missy said. So does this mean you forgive me?

Ash was getting pissed so he flipped missy so he was on top of her but missy flipped it back to the other way and pinned him down with her arms so he couldn’t move at all. He finally said missy I give up please let me go now. Ok missy said and then let him out from underneath her by standing up then helped him up. Missy Ash said he put her on the floor and noticed that she had fainted so he tickled her she woke up screaming in pain. AHHHHHH that hurt you fucker don’t tickle me sorry ash said ash I think you broke my rib cage then she started coughing up blood shit ash said then picked her up put her in the car then ran her to the emergency room. 7 hours later. Thanks a lot ash you are such an ass hole Melissa said as they walked into the house. What’s wrong Jake said he broke my rib cage and almost killed me I’m not even supposed to be up walking right now and I can’t take any painkillers because they have steroids in them. Damn that’s got to hurt oh trust me it does now if you don’t mind I’m going to sleep night babe Night Hun. Great just what I need is for her to be mad at me right now ash mumbled underneath his breath what was that Jake said nothing Jake ok whatever you say ash. Why are you so mad at ash he couldn’t make out what you were saying before you fainted and he can’t stand you being mad at him. I know Jake but he broke my rib cage and he knows my ribs are really fragile and how easy they break I’m gonna go out and talk to him k babe yeah Hun Jake said as he kissed her lips and held her hand as they walked out together. Ash missy said in pain. Yeah missy, I’m sorry for bein such a bitch and I’m not mad at you I understand that you couldn’t understand what I said. Thanks sis I love you and I hate it when ur mad at me.

Missy fainted from the pain so ash came runnin to her. Sis wake up c’mon please. Jake kissed her on the cheek and she woke right up. Ash can you carry me back into the room so ash went to pick her up as jake swiped her up right into his arms and said don’t worry ash I got it . Ok ash said disappointedly on shrugged it off.

Honey Melissa screamed from her room the next morning, What Jacob scram while running to her side. My side hurts really bad can you get me some advil. Yeas sweetie hold on and I’ll be right back with it. Ash walked in and said sis u need something cuz I can get it for u, u know that right? Yeah ash but I really don’t want to be a problem, sis ur my best friend not my worst enemy and there’s no way in hell ur bein a problem. Thanks ash I love you a lot Melissa said.

Jake, Melissa said quietly as she walked into the room just in case he was sleeping. Hmm, Jake hummed in a almost dead tone. What’s wrong babe Melissa said. Nothing, Hun just a bit tired. Oh I’m sorry for bugging you I let you sleep now k? No, you lay here and sleep to I know u need it u look dead Hun he said looking up at her. Yeah but I’ve got things I need to do before I can she said in a very weak frustrated tone and almost fainted. You sleep you need it for your own good I’ll do the stuff u need to get done just give me a list. No u stay here with me and I can do that later right now were going to sleep.
