Pokemon Blue/Red

TheFirst Pokemon RPG Games!

In pok'mon (versions red or blue) your ultimate goal is to complete the pok'dex which was given to you in the beginning of the game by Professor Oak. His grandson, Gary, who always seems to be a bit faster than you, is trying to do this also. However, in order to complete this, you must first suceed in becoming the Pok'mon League Champion by ousting the Elite Four. Before you can join the ranks in the Pok'mon League, you must first prove yourself to be worthy. The only way to get into the Pok'mon League is by collecting all 8 badges. You recieve a badge when you beat one of the gym leaders in the game, and there are 8 gym leaders in all, who each reside in different towns. While you are collecting badges, many side-quests will have to be completed. Also, if you want to complete your Pokedex, you must trade with your friend from a different version to collect all 151 (Get a GameShark to collect Mew).

3 Starting Pokemon:

There are 3 Pokemons you can choose from to start your adventure - Bulbasaur, Squirtle, Charmander! Here are their advantages/disadvantages:
Charmander - Fire Type
Charmander will have a hard time against Brock and Misty. He is not very effective against Rock or Water types. It is recommended choosing charmander if you either have played the game before or if you want a challenging first two gym leaders.

Squirtle - Water Type
Squirtle will have an easy time with Brock, but he will have a rougher time with Misty who trains the same type of pok?mon as Squirtle. Squirtle is recommended for a fairly challenging Cerulean City.

Bulbasaur - Grass Type

Bulbasaur will have an easy time with Brock and Misty because his grass moves are super effective against both. Bulbasaur if recommended for an easy beginning.
