The Pit as it is affectionately called amongst its shady patrons is a watering hole in the cellar of an old ore refinery it is accessed off of a modest set of steps on its north facing wall the its portal has a wide iron shod door, which looks over built for its purpose. It has a small iron hatch in it for identification purposes. The inside of the place is dominated by its low ceilings and massive brick piers, which form the foundations of the factory. The booths, storerooms, and the infamous “backrooms” of the Pit fill the deep recesses, which the foundations form. The interior of the place is dimly lit by small wall lamps, two per booth, the only exception to the pervasive gloom is fireplace along the west wall of the main room it is called the burning beast. It is a huge three-headed beast-like wrought iron construction, the mouths of the beast form actual fireplaces each open maw is rigged for cooking the bars simple fare. Heath Lonwye is the bars owner 

The bar itself is semi circular and made of roughly hewn slabs of black fire slate ground smooth and stacked on a brick wall, it surrounds the burning beast. The stools and benches are all over-built, made of massive steel pipes and girder riveted and bolted together.  

The booze is strong and plentiful, and the people who come here generally like the anonymity that this venue provides. The advantage of the foundry district is that no one lives here to observe their comings and goings and because it is also viewed as one of the safest districts in Amber the patrols seem to be fewer here than elsewhere. It is a private watering hole by invitation only (many have standing invitations and their guests are allowed). The owner is Heath Lonwye an extremely clever and apparently clean criminal of great renown in Amber. Numerous investigations of the man turn up nothing but trails of graft, bribery, and extortion murder and arson all leading to dead ends but which have him in common, he has be arrested numerous times for years to no avail he has.
His appearance coincided with the riots related to the resettlement of the floating city by Gerard to the Foundry districts unused shipyards. There is also an unsubstantiated rumor that he owns a loaded working gun depending on whos telling the tale it is either a big auto pistol or some monstrous heavy caliber gas powered assault rifle with a belt feed, but it is all rumor.
