The Magistrates hall was at one time the main City Guard barracks but now it has totally been remolded to handle the courts of the Magistrates. All that remains of the old barracks is the holding cells and the courtyard, home to the rarely used Gallows.

This structure is guarded by the highly dedicated Marshals of Amber and is exceptionally secure. No one enters or leaves without at least a cursory inspection. The Marshal believe that protecting the Magistrates is the most important mission of their lives and will do whatever it take to protect them.

Despite its social function and changes on the inside, the outside is still a respectable fortification and with a little time the hall could be withstand a sizable siege.
