The Unicorn Grotto has been considered a holly place for many years. It is build into the rift of the Mt. District here in a large natural cave a small spring flows with a natural carbonized pure water.  It is believe that it is here that the unicorn first drank the holy water of Amber.

The Grotto mission is now used as the first stop in training for priest and priestesses of the Unicorn. Here they are introduced to tradition and customs before taking up in the cathedrals, sort of a priest boot camp. Between fifty to a hundred come to live in the spartan conditions of the Grotto per season. Though attendance at the mission is limited due to the environment of the Mt. District. Many still make the trip to this sacred place once a year to make an offering. This is also the favorite place for the poor who believe that the water here is good luck and that it can heal them. Thought the Church has officially denied that the water can heal it is for sale and is bottled and used in ceremonies all over the GC.

The Master of the Grotto is Tambershel Krame now entering his golden years this master has bent his mind to the recruiting and preparing the way for priest of the Unicorn. All who would take up the Unicorn come here to be baptized in the water and to be tested. Tambershel Krame is from Shawa originally and there he headed the resurgence of the faith in the years and has only recently come to be the head of the Grotto. Here his kindly old temper and easygoing way has made him a hit among the new Acolytes of the faith.
