The Amber Marshals are headquartered out of a newly constructed glossy black stone edifice now appropriately called "Black Hall". Black Hall is not a defensive structure as much as an administrative and training center and more importantly a holding cell for those who are on trail.  A criminal who is arrested by the Constables of Amber may be deemed to dangerous and remanded to custody of the Marshals. The marshals are also in charge of the Prison for amber for located up in Garnath.

The Marshals are the most active paramilitary force in Amber though limited in number they have broad authority in carrying out their duty. Their duty is simple to do what the Magistrates deem necessary to carry out their duty. The do not enforce laws but enforce edicts and warrants from the bench.

The Marshals are loved by the Ivory District civilians who embrace them and buy them drinks. The crowds of the Ivory district feel that it is only natural that they house the Marshals in their districts. Most of the Marshals are from the Ivory District and most live there as well.
