Description: The foundry is the industrial heart of Amber. Not only are real metals smelted but forged into tools and weapons the shipyards are also strong in this district along with tile and stone masons works.

This is a tuff part of town, not mean or violent but tuff and straight talking. The normal amber subtlety and aesthetic devotion has no place here in this district of strictly working class citizens. Here work goes on day and night those that live here work hard and play hard. Physical competitions on days off draw big crowds to many events of strength and endurance. The citizens of the Foundry district pride themselves on being strong and taking zero shit.

Located along the port side of the west arm of Old amber the Foundry district has long been a provider for Amber. Here shops are provided power by either: falling water from the lower reservoir, the hilltop windmills or the strange natural gas that lies bellow Amber.

Type of Homes: The homes here are plain simple and small. The is nothing distinctive about the structure but there is a tradition of carving wonderful designs in your front door here. Door carving alone is the foundry district claim to fame as far as housing goes. Don't expect much here.

Type of Roads: Roads here are well kept stone affairs in nice long orderly straight lines. Finding your way around this district is easy and a comfortable ride. There are crossing roads that radiate from the water front and goods are either flowing down into the port or up to the forges.

Make up of people: What more can be said other then you will not find a tougher more pro Amber District. They are steadfast and figure themselves to be the Fists of Amber. They very little crime due to the simple fact that people from here tend to hang criminals not turn them over to the constables. Amberites make up to 60% and newcomers up to 40%. It's all about work here not about where you are from.

History: From the very earliest days the Foundry district had been the heart of soul of Amber manufacturing. Here all manner of works have kept Amber the center of the GC. Here trade craft steps aside for bulk heavy work. Here shipwrights and laborers work late into the night by gaslight making the ships that make Amber strong.

Never invaded and little damaged in any war the foundry District has kept the goods flowing at all times. Even when manpower was short women filled the furnace rooms and did what needed to be done. "Though trade ebbs and flows the forges are always Fired" so goes a favorite local saying.

Current Information: A new constable station has opened here and the constables are very popular if unneeded. There is talk of another foot race from the Flame of Amber to

the castle wall and back only this time the runners would have 50 Kg weights. This way those wimpy runners from the royal marines wont do so well.
