Kolvir District   

Description: Located just north of the remains of the old amber wall Kolvir is the Gate way to the west. This district is the political center of the new golden court. About twenty percent of all structures in the District are either directly or indirectly related to the GC in some way. It is a district of eateries and street side café's. Many say that if you want to know what is going in the GC one needs only go to a Kolvir cafes. Some say that half the laws of the GC are made in the café's of Kolvir but that is not true, more then half are made there.

            Kolvir is a bustling section of town what the GC and trade flowing in through the West Gate. There is something of a buzz going on in the Kolvir and one needs only to walks it's streets to get caught up in the frantic energy. Food here is exotic and foreign the drinks strange and wild each catering too the preferences of specific houses.

  Type of Homes: Town houses with brick fronts are the most common. In the middle of each block is a green area each town house, except the corner ones abut. In these green areas neighbors meet and children play. These islands of green are comfortable family oriented places.

  Type of Roads: Kolvir has more narrow roads then the other Districts in the New Amber but has many more broad sidewalks. It can be difficult finding your way around until you get use to it. The Roads made up of Green and Grey and Dark blue cobble stone mix.

  Make up of people: With natural immigration and the needs of each region in the GC the make up of the people in Kolvir is very different, here newcomers out number the Amberites by four to one. This mix has also meant that from neighborhood to neighborhood you can find wildly different ideas and opinions.

  History: This district is the handy work of Lady Flora's personal attention. For years no one could build there without her personal permission. This district was originally meant to be GC and Amber civil services but by the time the GC hall was finished too much new construction was underway to relocate the other governmental structures.

The Kolvir district is centered on the GC circle a large roundabout the all the major GC structures circle. In the Center of the roundabout is located a small city guard barracks for the GC detail though not decorative it is efficiently placed.

Here is also the West gate leading from Amber to the protected land and up into the Garnath. It was the last wall to be constructed for Amber and it was felt that another wall would never be build but so fast has the Kolvir filled up that many are seeking a new wall.

  Current Information: The Kolvir district is now over crowded. Building here is not possible and much demolishing is going on of any structure not up to snuff to make way for newer buildings.
