Wall District

Description: The
oldest unchanged district in Amber located in the North Eastern part of the old
city. Here the tall stone building are pressed side to side over looking narrow
streets and alleys. Her it is impossible to tell what is an alley and what is a
street. Many parts of the district are build over the streets in bridge
buildings or arch buildings.
The most populous of the old city this District is the back bone of
Amber. The fiercely Wall District residence are rabid fans of Raider betting but
their district has no room for either thus the residence are seen all over town.
A running joke of the Wall District is that the only thing that moves
quickly here is rumors and it is the rumor center of Amber. You want to keep a
secret then don't tell it to anyone in the wall District where rumors and
secrets are traded and swapped over the local favorite of kick ass strong coffee
with a shot of Gin.
An Interesting person in the wall District is the Self Proclaimed Emperor
of Amber. This strange individual once wandered the street dressed as a ships
captain and proclaimed himself the emperor of all Amber. Though obviously off
his rocker he has become sort of an Icon in the Wall district. Here is
charismatic personality, vast knowledge of the entire city and a memory that not
only remembers names and faces but your family, your job an how you are doing
has made him very popular. He has proven himself a fine arbitrator and has
settle many legal questions outside of the courts with his charm and common
sense. An interesting and popular
fellow.
Type of Homes: Few
free standing homes and a sprinkling of town houses break up and otherwise
endless wall of buildings. Apartments are the most common but there are many
coop apartments owned by the residence in a share housing contract.
Type of Roads: The
roads here are of loose cobble stone worn smooth by years of travel. There are
no curbs or side walks here just narrow crowded roads of yelling cart drives
trying to thread their way through the crowded ways.
Make up of people: Amberite
here tend to be stodgy and traditional and are resistant to any one who is not
an Amberite moving into their district. They are great consumers of
foreign foods, music, books and the like but they don't need anyone else in
their neighborhoods. Though this is not expressed in any hostility for visitors
to the District it is clear and well known that you do not move into the
"Wall" unless you are at least from Amber, preferably originally from
the "Wall"
History:
Virtually undamaged in any major way through the history of Amber the Wall
district has a unique flavor and style to it's self. Crowded in your face head
strong and loud the residence of the Wall District have been fiercely
independent and determined since the time of Dworkin.
