Pelshire has long been thought to be the poorest of the Regions of Amber. Dominate by old tangled forest and miles of bogs. Pelshire is jokingly called the source of all rain for it is either foggy or raining there a great deal of the time. This is due to the cool air of the High Mt. Range colliding with the moisture laden sea air.

            It seemed to many that the only marketable product from Pelshire was there fine white Marble, quarried near Tonhom. Even Pentagil believed their immense region to be of little value. Then two great discovers changed that. A fibrous tree that grew in the bogs like a weed and produced a strong and very long fiber. This created a boom in rope weaving and it has proven to be an incredible money makers. The fleets of Amber and the GC need a rope that stays strong in all shadows and here it was. Another product to bring wealth to this region was from it's burgeoning distilleries who use the bogs packed moss to produce fine single malt Pelshire whiskey.

Pelshire is growing rapidly and the money is flowing into the coffers of the Pentagil royal house. However they're having to put out large amounts to build those annoying things like roads and aqueduct and to dry out enough farm land to support the new mouths that arrive with each ship.

The Ruts: This strange network of  trenches are thought to be the remains of a wood stockade that ran between the Anvil Mt. and the sea facing Arden. Though no trace remains of the battlements if there ever were any the network of motes crisscrosses the country side.
