All of these exercises can be used for goaltenders, but the ones especially for goalies are marked GOALIES.

Miscellaneous Exercises

Side-jumps - Jump side-to-side. Do as many as you can in the time. Do both of these:
Keeping your legs together, and your chest in the (relatively) same place, jump side-to-side.
Keeping your upperbody in the same place, put your feet in a wide stance. Jump side-to-side, with only one foot touching the ground at any time.
This strengthens your leg muscles so when you're skating, you can stop, turn around, and fire off in the other direction faster.

Reaction drills - TWO-PERSON - Need two 2-4 feet velcro strips, or yarn, or something like that. Have two people stand 4-6 feet away from each other. Tie the velcro on a belt, and put the belt on them (or tie it around their waist). Fasten the velcro in the middle (or cut the yarn to one strand left), and have them stand far enough apart so there is only a little slack in the line. Have one person move, and the other person has to react so the velcro/yarn doesn't seperate.

Reaction drills - GOALIE/TWO-PERSON - Get as many pucks or balls (tennis, racket or roller hockey - NOT baseballs) together. Have the goalie stand in front of a brickwall (if a net is not available), and mark a 4'X6' rectangle on the wall, starting from the ground. Have the goalie put on all his gear, except skates, and stand in front of the mark on the wall as if it were the goal. Have the person throw the balls at various places, and the goalie will have to react. Try to throw at high and low -glove, blocker side, and five-hole. Aim for weaknesses, and improve on those areas. You could chalk (or powder) the balls/pucks to see where they hit on the wall.

Hand-Eye Coordination Exercises

Juggling - Juggling is one of the best hand-eye coordination exercises. I taught myself, but you may have to look at a book. Juggle different objects, larger, bigger, boxes, pucks, and more objects...4 or 5 maybe?

Ball Bounce - Bouncing a ball against the wall is good hand-eye coordination. Try to catch it with one touch, sort of like in wall ball.

Ball Bounce - GOALIES - For the Goalie version of Ball Bounce, just try to catch it with the left hand (or glove hand). After a while, start trying to catch it with your glove on.

Hall Ball - GOALIES - In a hall (or outside), close all the doors. Bounce a ball against the end of the hall, and try to block it from hitting the far end of the wall. You could add blockers, gloves, and even pads to this exercise.

Squat and Bounce - Squat and bounce a ball. Make sure to catch it with your glove (left?) hand. After you can get the ball 20+ times in a row, start bouncing two balls, with one hand, still. You could move up to three balls, with both hands.
