Aku is the shape-shifting master of darkness. It is not known where he comes from but he was imprisoned in the Earth by Jack's father with the help of an enchanted sword long before Jack was born. Aku broke free of his imprisonment and captured Jack's father before he was able to reach the sword. During the time Jack was training, Aku imprisoned the country. He was defeated by Jack a few years later but he managed to send Jack into the distant future before Jack could slay him.
