Schwerdt's different topographical regions experience distinct climates. The coastal region is largely humid and wet. The lowlands are the driest part of the country. The southern plateau is largely temperate; the highlands are the wettest region.
Rainfall occurs seasonally throughout most of Schwerdt. The coast, lowlands, and
plateau areas experience two rainy seasons. The "long rains" extend roughly from
March to June and the "short rains" last from approximately October to December.
The highlands have a single rainy season, lasting from March to September.
All parts of the country are subject to periodic droughts, or delays in the start
of the rainy seasons.
