Foreign Policy

Community of Nations

As a major power, the Social Republic of Schwerdt has an obligation to the Community of Nations to provide leadership in the furtherance of world harmony and the growth of cooperation among nations. Schwerdt's international policy has this guiding principle as its basis.

Sovereignty of the State

The concept of the sovereignty of the nation-state is a critical component of the international system.

International Law and Conventions

The rule of law is the basis of civilised co-existence in the modern, complex world.

Diplomacy and Diplomatic Missions

Diplomacy is the means by which states represent themselves, build strong relations, and resolve their differences.

International Terrorism and Crime

International terrorism and criminal organisations are a blight on the world. Cooperative efforts must be made to suppress such activities.

Spheres of Interest

States have an interest in areas outside their own territory within which events may have a direct impact on the security of the state.

High Seas and Free Trade

Free enterprise and the international division of labor enhance the domestic economy and ensure global stability.

Alliances, Treaties, and Nonproliferation

The furtherance of defensive alliances and cooperative treaties serves to bind the Community of Nations closer together. Nonproliferation of weapons of mass destruction enhances global security.
