Import Restrictions
Contraband
Certain items may not be brought into Schwerdt under any circumstances. Do not attempt to bring contraband items into Schwerdt without a valid import permit. Although not exhaustive, the following list is representative:
- Weapons (firearms, ammunition, knives with blades over 10cm [4in], and explosive devices)
- Drugs and narcotics without a prescription from a healthcare provider
- Electronic devices not accepted for use within Schwerdt
- Radioactive materials
- Certain biological and chemical materials
- Protected species of plants and animals
- Material (print or other media) which offends the common decency
- Stolen or otherwise misappropriated property
Import Permit Required
Many items require a valid import permit before they can be brought into Schwerdt. In general, unprocessed foodstuffs, including fresh meats, fruits, and vegetables, may not be brought into Schwerdt without a permit. Tobacco, alcohol, and other high value items beyond personal use quantities are subject to duty. Live animals, except properly documented pets, require an import permit and proper veterinary certification before being permitted into Schwerdt.
Export Restrictions

Certain items may not be exported, including particular foodstuffs, protected species of plants and animals, radioactive materials, and certain electronic devices.
Export Permit Required
There are export restrictions on certain items. Items requiring an export permit before they may be removed from Schwerdt include cultural, historical, and artistic items, as well as weapons, drugs, and narcotics.
