Jean Dumas: Jean went insane after being hit in the head by a jib on his sailing boat. His insanity was induced after being put in the asylum and having his nice things taken away by Daphne after Pierre's death. He killed himself eventually. Jean's loss of life was tragic. If only Daphne had been the one committed instead, eh?

Grandpere Jack Landry: Grandpere Jack had an obsession with selling off children. Everytime Gabriel gave birth to any of her children, he sold them off (i.e., Paul & Giselle). Luckily, Ruby was kept a secret until it was too late for him to sell her with her twin. He eventually tried to sell Ruby to Buster Trahaw but never succeeded. He died drunk in the swamps.

Buster Trahaw: Buster only wanted what he had paid for... Ruby. He tried to do everything to keep her in his clutches but she always managed to get away. Then he came after her daughter, Pearl, and got eaten by alligators in the swamp.

Paul Marcus Tate: Paul's obsession was his half-sister, Ruby. He put up a false face and married her actually making himself believe she could love him as a wife. His love for her caused him to kill himself in the swamps at their secret place when she found a way to get back together with her true love, Beau. His death was heart-breaking because he loved Ruby that much that he made himself believe she had died and not Giselle...

Ruby Landry Dumas Andreas: Ruby got through a lot of tough times, but when her son died, she went crazy trying to set everything straight with her voodoo & spiritual stuff. She went back to Houma and the Tate Mansion and finally set Paul's "spirit" free. (Does anyone else hear the theme music of the Twilight Zone for this? *wink*)
