Wildflowers

Misty Foster: Faced with the fact that her parents were divorcing and having to deal with her father and a younger woman shacking up together, I think Misty handled herself very well. Quite the rebelious young lady, she found herself running away once with bad boy boyfriend, Lloyd.

Jade Lester: Poor little rich girl... so confused due to her parent's divorce as well. And although, as she says, she was never supposed to be born, she can't handle the fact that her parents are pulling her apart by the arms. Jade's mental illness derives from almost being rapped, being kidnapped, and trying to commit suicide.

Star: Leading a typical life of an average lower class girl, when Star's father runs off and her booze-head mother shacks up with another man, Star is forced to live with her grandmother. Her insanity lies in all of the problems most lower class families have (crime, money, etc.) and the loss of her boyfriend due to his brutal murder.

Cathy "Cat" Carson: Not only is poor Cat battling with her size, but Cat is having to overcome her child molesting "father" (or should I say the man she thought was her father). Sexual abuse has torn her mind apart, making her a shy girl who can't speak her mind clearly.
