Casteel

In "Dark Angel," when Heaven is thinking about the age difference between Tony & Jillian, she states that Kitty Dennison was 10 years younger than her husband Cal, when in all actuality, she was ten years OLDER. --Andie18834

The first Casteel mistake you have listed is wrong. It says that Heaven thinks about how Kitty was ten years younger than Cal...She doesn't think that at all. On page 28, it says... "What a coincidence that Tony could be ten years younger than Jillian, just as Cal was ten years younger than his wife, Kitty Dennison." --Aemie

In "Fallen Hearts," (page 116) Cleave's last name is misspelled VanVoren (with one e).

In "Fallen Hearts," (page 335) the judge's name is originally Byron McKensie, but it is misspelled MacKensie.

On the cover of "Fallen Hearts," Tony is blonde, but on the cover of "Web of Dreams," he is a brunette.

In "Gates of Paradise," (page 253) Logan's middle name is Robert. In "Heaven," it was Grant.

On page 237 of "Gates of Paradise," Annie's hairdresser's name is Renee, but a few sentences down, it is misspelled Renece.

In "Fallen Hearts," Tom tells Heaven about Luke's new son. He states that he got to name him and chose two names of famous explorers. He said his name was Walter Drake Casteel. But in "Gates of Paradise" (page 248), Annie calls him Drake Ormand Casteel.

In "Web of Dreams," Luke introduces himself to Leigh as "Thomas Luke Casteel," but in Fallen Hearts, Fanny says his name is "Luke Toby Casteel."

In "Heaven," Heaven describes Fanny's eyes as "turning almost black before she was a year old." In "Gates of Paradise," Annie says, "I did think there was something different about her, a new, more serious look in her blue eyes." --Aemie

In "Dark Angel"....Page 177 (hardcover edition) next to last paragraph.... Heaven tells little Drake that his UNCLE Tom told her about him...but Tom was his BROTHER! They (Tom & Drake) did have the same father after all.... --Stacy

In "Dark Angel," Heaven describes Tony as a "smiling blond man" when she meets him at the airport for the first time. "But later in the series, when she knows she is his daughter, Heaven says she got her dark hair from him. --SunDanz30

On page 229 ("Gates of Paradise"), Annie is looking at a picture of Leigh, and she says that she was about her age in the picture. Annie was 18 when she said that, but Leigh dies when she was 14, so she couldn't have been 18, or even a few years off. --HeavenGIRL1314

In "Heaven," Heaven says she turned 16, then later she turned 17. Then in the car, to take Kitty to her parents, she said she was 16 again. --Arielle121

On page 394 of "Web of Dreams," there is a paragraph stating, "Nearly fourteen years ago, my mother had become pregnant about my age and then tricked the man I thought was my daddy into marrying her, never telling him the truth." Now, correct me if I'm wrong, but Jillian is in her forties in that book (it's mentioned many times), and therefore she would have had to have had Leigh when she was in her twenties or even thirties. It would have been impossible for Jillian to have had Leigh around the age of 14 because that would make Jillian only about twenty-eight or so, not in her forties. --mouse2001

In GOP, the Stonewall's butler is named Gerald. Towards the end of the book, Annie starts calling him George. --Kara

Heaven always describes her hair as "Indian Casteel" black and Troy's as dark brown with hints of copper. But when Tony tells Heaven he is her father he says that her hair is the same color and texture as Troy's.

When Heaven meets Stacie, Stacie says that she didn't know she was coming but that Tom had acted like he wanted to confide something to her that morning. Then she turns around and says that Tom begged her to keep Heaven there until he could get back.

Why does Heaven have trouble with ironing her dress in "Dark Angel" when she did all the housework in Candlewick?

At the end of "Heaven," in the letters Luke left her it has the name and address of the couple who bought Keith and Our Jane. But in "Dark Angel" she tells Troy she doesn't know where they are.

When Tony tells Jillian about Heaven and Troy's engagement, it says "...he turned hard eyes on his wife, as if ordering her to say nothing to alarm either of us." But Tony doesn't know that Heaven is his daughter at that time.

In "Dark Angel," why the h*ll does it take Heaven three days to drive from Boston to West Virginia and how can she make a stop in New York City? It's not along the way.

Why is Tony so shocked out that Leigh died 17 years ago in "Dark Angel" when "Web of Dreams" shows that he had a letter from his detective agency telling him where she was, when she died and how?

How does Leigh's diary end up in Jillian's suite in the prologue of "Web of Dreams"?

In "Heaven," she mentions a suit that her mother bought for Luke when they married but in "Web of Dreams" has a few dollars when she meets Luke.

(Thanks Mandy!!!)

I found another mistake in "Gates of Paradise." The servants of Hasbrouck House are Roland Star, Mrs. Avery, and Gerald Wilson. On page 370 they mentioned George, isn't supposed to be Gerald? --mistyrain31

Another on I found was about Rye Whiskey. On page 179 it says his hair was as white as snow, then on page 252 it says he has gray hair. --mistyrain31

I found one mistake not listed... In Dark Angel, there comes a part in the begining when she thinks something like, "my mother died just five months after my birth..." and than in another part, she thinks, "and I am responsible for the death of my mother on the same day as my birthing." --Carrie

It mentions that Tom is four Months younger than Heaven and Luke married Sarah two months after the death of his "Angel". So, that would mean that Luke had cheated on Leigh with Sarah while she was alive?? --Carrie

On your page you have that Heaven made a stop in NYC while driving from Boston to West Virginia. You wonder how she can stop in NYC when it's not even along the way. NYC is on the way from Boston to WV. Boston is north of NYC, so she would have to drive right through New York State to get to West Virginia. --Aemie

You gotta drive through the state, not the city. I know two people who made that drive, honestly, but I first saw it by looking at a map after it caught my attention. And even with her hair appointment it still shouldn't have taken so long. --Mutt

I noticed another mistake in the Casteel series. In "Heaven," Luke's wife is named Sarah, but in "Fallen Hearts" they call her Sara. --Kelsy

Heaven says Granny told her Leigh had bought Luke a new suit on their 2 week honeymoon in Atlanta, but besides having "only a few dollars", when Luke brought Leigh home to the cabin, they had only met three days ago --Beth

In Dark Angel, Tony tells Heaven that Jillian said she was 30 when they met, but in Web of Dreams, Jillian tells Leigh she told Tony she was 28. --Beth

Tony also tells Heaven he was 20 when he met Jillian, but he was 23. --Beth

When Heaven is telling Logan about Rye Whiskey, she says his real name is Rye Williams, but it's Ryse not Rye. --Beth

Right before the custody trial in Fallen Hearts, Heaven says Fanny and Randall got married two weeks ago, but when Fanny is on the witness stand, she says it was 2 days ago. --Beth

In Fallen Hearts, Heaven says Ole Smokey is a coal stove, but they always had to chop wood to burn--I don't imagine they had enough money for two stoves in the cabin or to buy coal. --Beth

In Gates of Paradise, when Annie asks Rye about the horse named Scuttles, he tells her that was Jillian's horse when she was young and that there was never a horse named Scuttles at Farthy, but Troy's pony when Leigh lived there was named Scuttles. --Beth

Troy's horse was named Sniffles not Scuttles. The poor kid was sick all the time, what else would he name his pony? :) --Mutt

I noticed in Dark Angel that when Tony tells Heaven of Troy's death, he mentions that the horse made it back to land and a few days later Troy's body washed ashore. This is never questioned, even though Troy comes back later. --Elizabeth

I was reading on your page about people pointing out V.C. Andrews mistakes is books and I noticed someone said that Luke and Luke Jr's names were flip-flopped. Actually, the elder Luke's name is Thomas Luke Casteel, and the younger Luke's name is Luke Toby Casteel. They just called the younger Luke Luke Jr. It had nothing to do with the full name. It was very devoutly stated throughout the series that the elder Luke's name was in fact Thomas Luke Casteel. To call someone a Jr. you don't havta have the full name of the person they are named after. Fanny said "I named him after Pa" meaning the Luke part of his name, but the Toby obviously came from Grandpa. --Destucto-Girl

Before Heaven's fatal circus visit she is meticulously ironing her mothers dress that she wore when she met Luke the first time. Leigh was 14 when she met Luke and Heaven was 22 when she wore it to the circus. Tony says he admired Leigh's developing figure... how can a grown woman like Heaven fit into an adolescents dress? --Mutt

Heaven always says how much she wants to hide her pitiful past from everyone yet she walks around blabbing about it! --Mutt

Why doesn't Heaven have Leigh's diary with her mother's suitcase? --Mutt

In "Dark Angel", Heaven says that she arrived at Farthy in late October and started school a short while later, BUT the girls at Winterhaven say Troy turned 23 just two weeks before in September. First, 2 wks ago would still be in October and second, his birthday is Sept. 9th. --Mutt

In "Fallen Hearts" when Heaven first discovers Troy, she mentions her past visits as only being two years ago...it was more like 6 years ago. --Mutt

In "Fallen Hearts" after Troy sneaks up to Heaven's room, she mentions the rain and mud that he brought in with him, but in the tunnels she says that some of the footprints were made the night before...there is no rain and mud in the tunnels. --Mutt

In "Dark Angel", what happens to Heaven's sprained ankle after the horse throws her? She can't even walk but it's never mentioned again and she's plenty active after that...hint hint ^_- --Mutt

All Heaven does is study study study and worry about the funding of her education...she even decides to put up with Tony's bs so she can get the best possible education...After only two years of living her dream, being a teacher in the Willies, she RETIRES to become the dutiful little wife to Logan...the exact opposite of what she beleived in. She didn't even want to throw everything aside to be just a wife to Troy when she was eighteen....and she said she was determined to do more with her life than have some mans babies and keep up after a mate. --Mutt

In "Heaven" on page 6 when Granny is telling Heaven about her mother she said that Leigh brought rings and jewels, but in "Web of Dreams" on page 361 Leigh said that she didn't care about her taking jewelry. --Earthangel

In Gates of Paradise on page 374 Fanny said that Tom was mauled by a tiger, not a lion.I looked in the book a couple of times to make sure. --Earthangel15

Somebody said that in "Fallen Hearts" Tom tells Heaven about Lukes new son when Tom actually tells her in "Dark Angel." --Starglr99

Heaven had difficulty in ironing her dress in "Dark Angel" because it was made of a very expensive material. Sure, she ironed all the clothes in Candlewick, but I doubt they had dresses like that! --Starsea
