The aim behind this site: My original idea for the site was to create a simple informative site, one that would remind people about the 80's. I wanted to build up good usefull resources of information that could be interesting, and usefull for projects. So I wrote some reviews and info pages, started to build a links resource. Then I realised this site so far has just given information, good but not what its full potential could be. I decided I also wanted to hear from the visitors, all those people who may not have a site, but have a lot to say. With this in mind (even before I have colected more info) I set up a guest book to hear their thoughts about the site, then a message board so my visitors could share and talk to each other. The more I thought about it the more I became certain, I want a site thats not a plain old 2D one sided information page that people might visit ocasionaly. I wanted a fully interactive site that had a comunity, a site that wasn't just mine but one that was also the visitors. I still want to build a large information resource, but I now have many more plans for this site. From the simple idea of a guest book and BBS I have progressed to having my own search engine, and now i'm looking in to having a news system thats updated every 15 minutes with news from relevent magazines and papers. Most likely from music and movie magazines, still i'll see what looks the best for this site when I get around to it. Right now with just over 149 megabytes of free hosting left the 1980s Vortex has a lot of room for new ideas. I may be a little short of time, but I still have many plans, so in the sprit of a site thats the visitors and mine I would like to invite anybody intersted to send me a email with new ideas on how to make this site grow.
